Item limit needs a serious boost
As someone who's been playing this game for the entire 10 years of its lifespan, I've amassed a lot of buildings, decorations, etc, and I have a very busy Springfield, one which I've spent a lot of time on to make it look and feel like a real Springfield. So it's frustrating when I was doing a bit of town redesigning to see the warning that I'm closing in on the item limit with 14,800 already placed in the town.
For a game this big, with so many things you can place in your town and so much land, it feels a bit ridiculous for the limit to be so low at just 15,000. I like adding in lots of trees, bushes, fences, walls, etc, to make the town look and feel better. I don't want to have to remove these aesthetics as I feel it would ruin my town to do so.
The limit should really, at the very least, be double what it is now as it just doesn't feel commensurate to how much you can have in your town to make it look and feel aesthetically pleasing.

I've been playing for years too, and my town is at it's limit. I've had to delete loads of pavements, roads, trees and fences etc. I even had to delete hundreds of monorail tracks. I had 6 stations each with it's own tracks, and now only have 4 separate tracks.
Still not enough, imo.
Curently I don't have all land unlocked (waiting for Golden Goose to make a return so I can buy it), but I did I'd then a 16k item would stil be too little given just how much space there is for town designing.
This is the part that's so frustrating, that road, pavement, water, etc, all count towards the item limit.
Having to remove such things from your town as well as buildings, decorations, etc, is not not good game design, imo.
Surely the devs realise just how much people can put in their towns, we're not just placing a ton of buildings in empty land with a few decorations. Many of us take designing and aesthetics very seriously and they haven't been raising item limits sufficiently with how much content is in the game.
Even if it is indeed an issue of "device stability" then surely they can figure this out.
Id love to know what they think and why tho. But I have little hope for improvement here.
Limit older devices so those ppl can at least still play, but allow newer devices to utilize their technology
Hopefully EA gives us some headroom along with the event 🙏🏻 🤞🏻
Their business model is not a mystery to us.
Their business model is irrelevant to what we are discussing. It's not impossible to designate different limits for different devices. Just like the splash screen is adapted to all the different screen resolutions, the item limit could be adapted to multiple operating systems.
They could make the game more pleasing to those with newer devices, while still maintaining a functional game for older devices.
They just choose not to, like so many other things they choose not to do. How much revenue are they missing out on because of churn? They could be making more improvements to retain those customers. Honestly they should be using feedback from this site to keep as many customers happy as possible.
But anyone who's dealt with EA knows that customer satisfaction is not their priority.
Haha! What a load of total nonsense! 😂😂
It’s cool though - not my first rodeo…. After playing for over 10+ years I’ve been here many time before. As always I’ll store new stuff and design later when the limit is inevitably increased. As I said, I’m hoping they have the foresight to do this with this update, but if not I’ll mark time til they do
And what is it that makes you feel you get to say how others play and design, and whether they can go for a high multiplier. Many people play to get every item offered, some strive for huge multipler, some go for exquisite designs. None are wrong in my opinion, you are entitled to yours, I just don't agree with it.
