Anyone upgraded their iDevice?

Prev1
It's not an Apples to Oranges comparison--
I play on my ipad 1 and iphone 5 (better handles the graphics)
Since whacking day begun--my game on the iPad crashes a lot, especially logging in and out, and visiting other towns.
So I usually visit with the iPhone 5--which is more robust.
If I get enough donuts maybe I can exchange them for an ipad mini ;)

Yea.. I play on a samsung galaxy 2 and an iPad 1 and the ipad crashes when visting friends sometimes, but other than that I haven't had too many issues. In fact sometimes my android lags more, athough I think that this is because of the fact that I use the mobile internet on my phone sometimes...

I bought an iPhone 5 in small part because of the harps. My 3gs had been on its last leg for a long while, and the harps nudged me over the edge into upgrading.

I don't think it has much to do with your device. I play on the iPad 2, Galaxy S3 and on the iPad Mini and I can't say that any one of those handles the game any better than the other. I will say the iPad 2 crashes quite a bit with Whacking Day.

I still play a second town of similar size on my 3gs, and I will say it does make a difference. The 3gs is sloooooow compared to the 5 and its way faster processor.

I play mostly on my iPhone 4 and have never had crashing issues. Shortly after the Christmas update I was crashing a lot, but that was happening to everyone regardless of device. I also play on my iPad 4 and it definitely moves more smoothly and with less lag, but there doesn't seem to be much of a difference.

I don't have an iPhone so I can't compare those. For me with the devices I can play on, it really doesn't make a noticeable difference. If I'm still playing when I get an iPhone (probably when the 5s/6) comes out, I can say otherwise (:

The device definitely has an effect on performance, the iPad Mini and iPad 2 are essentially the same thing so it's expected that performance would be similar between those 2.

Thanks for all that input, I guess I'll hold on for now and wait for iPhone 6 or something. Buying a new device to play on top of the donuts I've spent. This game IS "life-ruiningly fun"

I also play on my iPhone 4 and usually have no problems in terms of game performance. It's crashed maybe 2 or 3 times in several months of me playing. I also recently downloaded and installed iOS 6 (due to the game recently requiring iOS 5 or higher to play), and both before and after the update my game plays fine.

On that note, your crashing problem may be related to too much of your phone's memory being taken up. I'd check to see how much available space you have and if necessary delete some pics, music, or apps you don't need.

Not an iDevice, so perhaps pointless to the conversation, but I've been playing on my Nexus for a few months and if it has crashed even once, I don't recall it.

I've had lots of trouble with latency and crashes throughout the history of the game (especially at Christmas when it was snowing), but I am operating on an iPhone 4 and was wondering if anyone has upgraded from an older iDevice to a newer one and if it had led to any improvement with those sorts of issues?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Nope I started on an iPhone4 now on the 5 and its exactly the same no difference at all, still crashing extremely long log in/out. But every other app has improved speed wise in terms of loading. Ea just uses a "no frills" or "home brand" servers, there a joke.

I play mostly on an iPad 2 and when I'm away from that I use my iPhone 4. Not much a difference. A little faster on the iPad 2, but nothing really signifigant. :)

Always played on iPad2 since Halloween never had any of the game ruining glitches that have affected people (or donut giving glitches :( )

Hoping to get iPhone5 soon just trying to find time to go down to EE and find out price. BEST PRICE. Hopefully wont start getting problems when I'm logging in and out of origin all the time as other users have complained about,

    Fingers crossed

I was using a 4th gen iPod, and I would crash all the time; especially at Christmas. I upgraded a month ago to a 5th gen iPod and things have definitely got lots better. Almost no crashing, except for the new 20 minute server reload. But that's been happening to everyone so it's not device specific.

ive got an iphone 4s and a ipad mini, the 4s does take a little longer to load and to visit friends, the mini is very quick which is usually what i use, or the pc app which is super quick.

i play on a sgs3 and it is mostly fine. if i play for hours at a time it will get quite hot and start to lag eventually but it cools down rapidly once the game is exited.
