Poorly handled extension of "Wacking Day" event!

Prev13
I have the same issue. I am, on one hand, glad they extended it because my daughter just started playing 3/4 of the way through the event. On the other hand I too panicked and bought donuts to buy the last item. I had intended to buy my daughter some donuts to help speed her along, but EA won't get any more out of me. And, yes, I'm still peeved over simcity too. EA won't last long treating loyal customers in this way. Customers should be rewarded not punished for choosing a product. The bright side is they added another level and I got 1 donut for leveling up! Wahoo!

I did the same thing (spend $$ on speeding) during the end of the Christmas event, only to find out the next day that the event had been extended :x It's a learning experience, just make sure the money you're spending buying donuts is extra cash you don't mind losing. I agree, it is upsetting, but in the end they are providing us with entertainment and deserve to get paid. Learn your lesson, I know I did.

I agree verov143. Keep whacking David Ganters and maybe you will be rewarded for having those extra snakes by the end of the next week. Like ending up with extra coins maybe you will get a donut or two out of it. Or something else cool for being well over 12,500.

I agree. I feel that while it is nice that EA has extended Whacking Day so that more people can now reach the point that they can obtain the motel, EA was better off informing players prior to the supposed deadline. I mean, it is true that many people were worried with all of the uncertainty that we've used our donuts to get the last items.

I am hoping that at the least EA could next time give us a heads up earlier if they were going to give an extension.

It's the lack of notice that has angered everyone and I can't blame people. They should have announced on their Facebook page or a pinned post here that Whacking Day was EXTENDED until May 16. It's poor business ethics from EA and they might lose a lot of custom. I know I for one am much less likely to buy an EA game again. I was on the verge of getting Theme Park for my Android phone but instead I'll stick to the old PS1 version.

EA was rated worst company 2 years in a row...and they wonder why. A lot of us spent $ for donuts to get rewards we could've gotten ourselves if we were told the finish date would be extended. Funny that the people who didn't dish out the $ for donuts are getting the rewards for free now.

None of the special events have ever ended on time. It shouldn't come as a surprise this has happened. There's a reason EA is the worst rated company in the U.S. Google it!

To be honest, this is a * joke! Waiting for all people spending money/donuts to finish the event and then extend afterwards.
(Don't get me wrong. Im happy for all the people who didn't reached 12500 snakes, yet - spending no donuts.)

EA, what you've done was poor business ethics.

You've cheated us!!! This was the last time for me spending money for an EA Game or APP until I get those donuts back!

Uggggggh, this is still going on. Here I am checking in on here to see why Whacking Day is still going on, thinking it was supposed to end on the 9th, and this thread is the 1st I've seen about the extension. I mean, not that it's a huge deal. I got all the prizes and stuff but still, EA didn't want to give a heads up about the extension in the game itself?

So bummed. Here I was thinking this was the end of all those stupid snakes slithering around my town but now I find out I gotta put up with it for another week?

    Boo-urns, I say. Boo-urns.

You guys are babies. Don't spend your money on a game. Period. Its not EAs fault. They don't force you to do anything. Its just poor lack of judgement on your part. Thank you EA for extending the event :)

Could not agree more. If you want to complain about spending money on the game, then don't spend the money. They did not force you to do it.

Yes a little heads up would be nice, but no where does it say you have to spend your own money to complete the event. This is not EA's fault.

It's COMPLETELY EA's fault! They said it would end May 9th. They made a Facebook post drilling this into your head last week. NO ONE would have bought the items last night if they were made aware of an extension.

EA are scumbags. Don't try to put the blame on people who are just trying to play the game by the rules these jackals set.

    Someone call Chief Wiggum!

I've been robbed! I've been conned, hoodwinked, had. I could have easily made the 12500 snakes needed with the extra week extension. I could have had them all by the end of today! I tried really hard the last few days to accumulate as many snakes as possible. Of course, in the end I spent my precious donuts to make up for my SHORTFALL. I want EA to give me my donuts back. "Life-ruiningly "fun"?" The ultimate insult is having those varmint snakes all over the place and having to whack them anyway -- for another week -- while other players meet their goal FOR FREE!
I want my donuts back. Is EA listening?

I don't cry about spending money on the game! I'm just upset how EA forced people to spend donuts because they revealed that the event was being extended after the initial deadline. On the other hand, setting a second deadline will force more people to spend donuts.
It's all about getting the maximum amount of money and * the customers.

That's not my point. (Conning people into buying/spending donuts and * you very much.) Ok, that's how the game works. They dangle treats in front of your nose to get you to cough up your cash. That's how they are generously paid! Thats why EA is in the "freemium" game business. We "crybabies" are funding the game for all, including the people who never pay a dime. So show a little respect, please.

The problem is that EA changed the game in the middle of play. There's an unwritten agreement: they offer you something, even if its only a virtual thing, and you decide whether or not you want it badly enough to pay. The deal isn't you pay for something now, and in a few minutes we'll decide whether or not we'll give you the finger. They're biting the proverbial hand that feeds them.

For those who can't relate: imagine buying a new 3D hi-def tv and while you're still in the parking lot the store throws its doors open and shouts "Free for all. Get them now, help yourselves!" In that case, you'd stomp back into the store and demand a refund. That's what has just happened to the people who pay the "merchant's" salaries. We demand a refund

@The people saying it is our fault we spent money:

It is funny that you guys are criticizing the people that keep the game free for you. We're the ones that keep the game ad-free for you and we keep the updates coming! On top of that we're the ones dropping our extra eggs around towns for players who can't afford donuts. As someone said earlier, I'm happy that you guys won't have to pay to get the prizes...but it really is unfair for those of us that did.

And I know people have said we had enough time to get all the prizes...but I just started playing this game Monday. I suppose its a lesson learned early and the hard way.

I agree. This was poorly handle if not done on purpose.

If it was done on purpose, for shame.
