I would say Hank Scorpio isn't really a regular Simpsons character. He was just in that one episode AFAICR. A great episode that fell out of rotation after 9/11 to be sure, but a great episode. And had a professional actor voice IIRC. In this case though it's more a non-speaking avatar as the Doctor in all his appearances since 1996 with the Fox Telefilm has never had a speaking role. It was cute as a one-off back then, but the writers tend to bring the cell back every so often when in Britain or at a Sci Fi convention.

And maybe they could also add the Springfield Bi-Monthly Science Fiction Convention: Springfield BiMonScifiCon.

I love Doctor Who. But even I have to agree that if EA acknowledges this other show (already a huge stretch), at best it would be a TARDIS decoration. There is SO much more to the Simpsons' world that hasn't been added. Not time to focus on other shows yet.

I agree on the so much more we need, but I was just thinking it's the 50th so we could just make this one, little exception. :)

I'd quote in forum but it would be a wall of text. I'm hoping for John Hurt or Fiona O'Shaughnessy. Tom Cruise and David Beckham are 250/1 if anyone fancies a punt.

How about Rupert Grint? They mention him, AND he's a ginger!

Never Tom Cruise though, I wouldn't watch.

I am a MASSIVE Whovian, and would love this...but let's be honest...the BBC would never let it happen!

I disagree, if we do one big show why shouldn't we do every other show's anniversary? Nah it would just totally muck up the game, it's simpsons not simpsons and doctor who.

I'd be quite happy with a Tardis decoration being quietly snuck in among other items in a general update. I dont see a Who update happening, but a little nod wouldn't be outside the realms of possibility. Perhaps not even named Tardis, but Wooden Blue Police Box. Could be a small easter egg.

(I don't think EA or Fox will care about Dr Who's 50th though :( )

Oh come on, be realistic. They will pick a relatively unknown actor who has very little by way of franchise or other "character" success. For example, Rupert Grint. Ron Weasley is NEVER going to be the Doctor.

Especially now Channel 4 have the rights to show The Simpsons, not BBC!

I've been a fan since '82, and I burst with joy at the series revival. Christopher & David were simply brilliant, and while Big Head does a fine job, I'm ready for him to move on
