It's not in the amazon store. You have to root your Kindle to allow it to install the Google play store. There's tutorials on YouTube , just search "how to root Kindle Fire"

Correct, you can either download and install it through getjar, or 1mobile.
or download the apk from elsewhere and install, really simple.
Great info guys! Wish I knew this before I rooted my gf's KFHD. She wasnt too happy about me voiding her warranty, lol.
Same thing happened to me when I first tried to install it, just keep trying to download an app until it works and eventually you won't get the google play store screen, it will just start installing getjar.
here is what i did. first i got apk downloader ext for chrome here

this will allow you to make your computer look like a device to the play store and be able to dl trusted apks rather than from some third party site.
i personally got this apk from the play store and reuploaded it for you here to make things easier. i also tested this apk on my device to make sure everything loaded properly and it worked just fine.

personally when im trying to install apk on a device that doesnt have playstore i use airdroid to sideload them. it uses wifi to allow you to browse and stuff via your web browser. really easy gui too.
here is the airdroid apk for easy installation.
