50 is nothing. its the price of a meal for 2 in a regular/good restaurant. think of it that way. you should get it it will haunt you if you dont loll
Lol you ask me I'd prefer to go to dinner with the Missus. Good chance of something extra afterwards. Not with donuts, blah no contest IMO.
Haha great point... I guess if you do not have a misses then buy a boatload! I mean really what else can you blow your hard earned money on
Spend the money on some nice clothes or a cologne and hit the clubs with a belly full of courage, it worked for me, should for you, except I can groove homie, chicks dig guys who can dance bro, trust me. I had a good time before I settled down.
After five months of playing for free, having bought all the land, completed all free buildings and tasks, I finally caved and bought a store full of 900 donuts. I spent a little over 500 Donuts right away, but the other 400 I'm going to save for things yet to come.
When you have steady income 100 bucks isn't really that much..
But I'd buy a boatload for the sake of the sale. You can't beat it. Like the others said, think of it as buying a PS3/Xbox games their prices are just as ridiculous.

Only difference is TO could get taken down at anytime without warning and your $$$$ gone and a bi7ch fight to get them back, at least with a console game you have it forever.
I can't stop thinking about it! £50 is a lot of money for something that I probably won't think about in a few years. I'm not stingy but when I think I could just give this money to charity or buy something worthwile like a pair of jeans I just wonder why I can't stop thinking about the Boatload!
Is there anyone else who doesn't mind having some of those lovely premium items?!
Can someone stop me from doing something I probably will regret?!
I have to go to work now but when I get back I want to see people trying to talk me out of this. Tell me I am not alone in wanting to be content with just normal stuff!!!
Gosh, dang it kid! C'mon do it all ready! C'mon we finally put "donuts" on sale again u "must" buy them.
Do it! C'mon were waiting for ya!
Oh boy, can't wait to milk my "cash cow!"

Yeah you have a valid point there.. Me personally have never spent much though due this sole reason. Most I've gotten was 160 donuts and that was with a free iTunes card I won lol.
So back to OP this is a valid point to think on, the game could be taken down..

That's the only reason I havnt and will not buy donuts, just doesn't seem logical. But if you win a iTunes card like you did, your laughing, spend up brother.
Some people live on another planet, there is noway EA are going to take down TSTO suddenly or anytime soon for that matter did you people not see how much the game generated EA in revenue this quarter alone??? Stop making silly excuses and buy a boatload it's far better value than any ps3 or Xbox game :-)

But what about all those folks how had their towns reset? Did they all get resolved?
So you know "mmmmdonuts", I'm buying a boatload. I started the game in Feb 2013 and could not imagine at that time spending any more than a few bucks. But like others have said here I am addicted too. Especially due to the forum which has added a whole new dimension to the game. I don't play any of my other games anymore. However, with that said, it all depends on your priorities. What is more important to you. What can you truly afford. If I was choosing between time with my spouse and the game....well the is no question, except for whacking day. My spouse was neglected and I had some making up to do. (-:
And if you are single, I agree with "emmcee1" earlier that said get out and have some fun.....that is if you have to choose. I do both.
And others have said maybe buy fewer. If you can't really afford the boatload buy less and split the difference. But if you are gonna buy donuts anyway.....buy them now. It is a great sale!!!
If there were ever a good time to buy it would be now. The previous 25% sale was for more donuts. For example the boatload cost $100 but you would get 25% more donuts. This sale is 25% off of the cost. Therefore, in my opinion this is the best Gil deal to date.
Think how annoyed you will be if your game is lost, 50 squid. Half of what you need for weekend end away with the wife, quarter of what you need for weekend away with someone elses wife.
I hope your better half doesn't know you talk like that, Jelly.
I can't quite bring myself to spend so much cash on a game. It it was a lot cheaper then I might but the thought of spending 50 quid on something that might not arrive then having to fight to get the money back....
One of the reasons I have been hesitant up to this point but I figured by now they would have worked out the kinks.
It all comes down to how you want to handle the money you earn. Don't forget, a lot of the people on this forum can afford/willing to have an entertainment budget that includes Tsto pixels (like me). If you're not in this category and money is tight, forget it. Save that money for a rainy day or save it for traveling or heck just go out and have a nice night out.
Also do you really have to go boatload? Why don't you just get less donuts?
Money isn't tight, I'm just thinking of the principle of the thing - do I want to give money to EA, do I want to pay for something that is not really practical?! I'm only considering the boatload because it's the only one that's worthwhile and not just for Squidport; just think of Halloween and Christmas. There's not much I want out of the premium stuff at the moment - I don't need everything, so I'm hoping a boatload will last a while... :?
Thank you for all your input - most of you were unhelpful You know who you are...GeekJen, Rolybert, Epicnezz, Marcovarius etc.
My mum was the worst - she doesnt even know how the game works but when I told her about spending money on it she was 100% for it practically forcing me to buy the boatload. She believes everyone should spend money on crap once in a while. However I frequently spend money on crap.
I think I have gotten a bit carried away after being ill and spending every waking moment playing
I have therefore decided to not buy the boatload. I am happy with the free stuff I get even if some of the premiums look cool. To be honest I would rather spend money and get some of the items I have missed like the cemeteries. If one day I have to spend money on donuts then so be it. At the moment I have not finished my town so have plenty of game ahead. Hopefully my town will look amazing even without the perks.
I can't help but add one more thing... Think of it terms of entertainment value for your money. In the part of the US where I live, two people at a movie (tickets plus snacks) costs $25 or more. That pays for about two hours of entertainment. Therefore, at the sale price the boatload of donuts pays for about three movies. You will get more than six hours of entertainment for the donuts, so IMO it's a good value for money.
