I'll be the first to admit that I have atrocious spelling. If it wasn't for spellcheck I'd probably still be working at Wendy's, flipping burgers. I don't think I ever made it to the 2nd round in a spelling bee, unlike some folks on this thread. ;-)
However, I have noticed in the current 20-something set an appalling lack of spelling skills. Not just in forum posts, but in general. It's like they don't care to even let spellcheck do its job.
I must be getting old, to even be complaining about this. But it's just my obsessive compulsive side showing itself.

Don't know where you're getting this from, because I really haven't noticed the spelling. I think you're nitpicking a bit too much. I know if spelling is bad because I notice it right away and I really haven't on this forum.

well you have to take into account that this is an online forum, and the lack of emoticons or words that usually express humor, makes it difficult to tell if one is serious or joking.

Ahhh, pregnancy brain! I was an OB/GYN nurse for years and I would say that almost all of the women I cared for complained about forgetfulness, trouble spelling, etc... There is ongoing research about this, some say it's the increase in Progersterone, some say lack of sleep, some say combo of those two things and then there is the research that says the woman's brain changes in size during pregnancy, then changes again after she delivers.
