Android Device - No "Better them, than me" Notification

Is she using any sort of a task killer? The app has to run in the background in order for you to get the notifications. The task killer may be auto-killing the game?

You actually want the notification? It always tripped me out when I heard it and I constantly keep my media and ringtone volumes on vibrate only so I don't risk it happening in public

Yea mine has woken me up and freaked me out. It also went off at a viewing for a friend that passed. I definitely don't miss it.

What would an example of an task killer be? How would I know and what to look at, in order to get rid of it?

Wow. Possibly the worst sound bite possible for the occasion.

My wife is using an Android device, she is a newbie to the game too, for the first couple of weeks she would always get the notification, but over the past week, the game has stopped the "Better them, than me" Notification. Ive checked the settings, there is no fault there, as every thing is set up right. Im scratching my head over this one as the sound of the notification isnt happening any more when clearly the settings are right. This is an Android device. Any trouble shooting advice will be greatly recieved? It just stopped working one day.

You need to turn Push Notification OFF. I have an android device and it drove me crazy until EA finally decided to put in that option months ago

You know.....I don't remember this going off that often for me. The one that gets me the most is when the race track is ready. Occasionally I'll forget and run a race before I go to bed. Nothing beats being on the verge of sleep and hearing that.

I think it depends on the device... if she didn't download a task killer on purpose (ex. "Advanced Task Killer" from GooglePlay Store), then there may be one preloaded on the device. My wife and I both have Samsungs and they came preloaded with one. This is the one on my Galaxy Note II: (just realized i can't post pics... , here's the link)

If she doesn't have something similar to that, you may just want to look at the active applications list and make sure TSTO is running. Go to Applications > Settings > Application Manager > Running. This will at least let you know if the app is running once you've exited it. Not sure where to go from there if it is... :XD:

OK, in an effort to not leave you hanging, I did a little more digging. If the app is still running in the background then I agree with BennyJayKay:

I didn't realize there was a "settings feature" within the game so to get there: click on the hammer & saw (like you were going yo build something), then in the upper right corner click on the little (i). That'll take you to the settings. There you can turn on/off the "Push Notifications" feature.

    Good luck!

That's messed up. Although it made me laugh when I first read it. :)

I find the notifications are a little hit and miss. I use blocking mode over night, but quite often during the day if I pick the game up and there might be 1 or 2 notifications but quite a lot of people with thumbs over their heads. But then this morning had 7 notification messages. Have once or twice had a notification message just after shutting the game down for a task I have just sorted out too.
