Self flagellation and monetary gain is the only answer. Be a rich fat cat and be horribly remorseful about it  ambiguous green dude

I plan on keeping my 100 blue house farm until every map tile is uncovered. even at 108% bonus payout it will be a while

I had 1.6 million about 12 hours ago and now im down to about 100k.

I had to uncover all the beach and first row of water it would have looked weird if I didnt

Serious damage to my in game cash thanks to the update has made me do something I never thought I would do ..............I've put purple houses in every bit of space I could :(

    I'm now a farmer, I'm ashamed

I have had to do the same recently myself just haven't been able to generate enough money to keep up with everything. My town is 90-95% come complete and new redesigned so the last 5-10% can wait while I do some of squidport.

It cost almost 2 million to get every piece of land/water. I've been hoarding and slaving away at stuff for months. So just a heads up about how much it's going to cost.

And no....I did not speed anything up so I'm still slaving away at trying to get those over-priced, too-long-to-build tiles. I just unlocked the Sea Captain about 30 minutes ago so YAY! LOL

How long does it take for a house farm to pay off?

Ill let you know when it does haha. But seriously is say once you get your initial outlay back for the house it starts paying off from that moment onwards I have 50 purple houses generating about $180 ($75 standard plus extra from my % bonus) every 3 hours so I'm definitely noticing a difference now.

Depends on what houses u use. Do the maths or use the search, there's lots of housefarm threads in here. I used to have the same questions as u.

I felt dirty a while back when I made a little farm to prepare for Squidport. Felt even dirtier when I rolled around in the cash. Now I feel really reluctant to spend it - it looks so pretty to see money sitting there when you used to live on a shoestring.

Ha ha, sounds like my other life, the one where I'm doing things that aren't tapping the Simpsons!

Same here. Built up just over 12 mil, down to 8.5 after last night. Don't ask how many donuts I blew. :(

    100 blue houses * 1800 build price = 180,000
    150*100=15,000
    15,000 *2.08=31,200 with my bonus

so its only 5.76 cycles for me so it can pay off really fast if you have the bonus and I can tap 3 times a day with my work schedule if I plan perfectly and tap exactly when I need to

 nah, the reluctance to spend cash cos I used to live on a shoestring bit!

Though my mother did want me to marry a farmer, I dislike the smell of cow poo though so that was a non-starter.

Why didn't you spent half of that housewarming cost in cars, etc that would up your bonus to make raking the casein quicker? My bonuses were around 250-300% and I can rake it in with only 4-8 of each colour house designed I to "neighbourhoods".

Also, I invested in a LOT of snake logs and stumps during Whacking Day for a planned deforestation/logging scene around the volcano lair and Popsicle tower. If you have some sitting in storage, put them out because they generate lots of cash.
