I don't see the pride in hacking. I mean, it would be great to get everything for free, but it wouldn't feel good knowing it was never earned. :?

Well when I was getting my Bachelor's in Computer Science I took a class with a professor who is part of some national internet security task force. That person (not saying gender in case anybody knows people in that organization) said that true hackers do it for the thrill of getting away with it and there also those who do it because it makes them feel better than others. Then there are those who just see it as a challenge and want to "crack the code".....but these are big time players and not people using some program on a piddly little game.

The military actually employs many of these big time hackers as does the government, they make outstanding task force members because they know the hacking community and they know their "tricks".

And just a bit of trivia fun, the type of hackers are red, white, and black hats. (Some places have other hats like blue, gray, and green). A red hat is an aggresive hacker that works for the government and whose job it is to break into the computer systems of other countries. A white hat hacker works for the government as well and their job is to break into their own government computers to expose any weak spots and then fix them. A black hat hacker are the ones that usually work in a group and they create some of the big time viruses, they also like publicity. Black hat hackers who are caught are often recruited into the government agency that caught them and they become red hat hackers (use their super powers for good! LOL).

And there you have it, the world of the real hackers.

Posts like this is why I still frequent this forum. Very interesting. Thanks lissarv68! :D

EA banning cheaters and hackers.... Impossible... EA Logic..

EA Logic: WHY ban a cheater when the cheater has 100 friends and if just a small percent of them went to the cheaters town and got inspired to get, that building or that premium character and go buy donuts then EA makes a sale.

Can't really get inspired by The "Other" Springfield in your friends list when new items come out but you can by people who have a lot of money to buy items for their towns and people who cheat.

HaHa that actually kinda makes sense.

LOL actually it's because we had a wicked storm roll through and I had to go batten down the hatches. Also had to get the hubby on the phone since he and the kid were on the golf course when the random storm popped up with hurricane force winds. It's all over the news right now, wicked storm!

@Meldesigner - glad I could entertain and enlighten. I'm a bit of a computer geek and my favorite area is internet security. I used to brag that I could break into any system but that was a whole other life ago and now I'm just a mom working in hospital information systems from home. BUT....that's why I sort of snicker a little bit on the inside at all the talk of the "hacking" of this game. It's not something I'd ever waste my time on because it's a game and I'm more interested in real life computers and their systems and keeping them secure.

Somebody could put 6k hacked donuts on my account right now and I still wouldn't use them to speed up squidport.

This thread is amusing though, as there are a lot of hackers on this site and it always makes me laugh at how vehemently they deny it. This game seems to attract a certain kind of idiot, not only do they cheat, they actually like to show off and you can tell they actually feel they've done something special, like they tricked all the other morons who say their town looks great, or actually believe that "it was a glitch". A lot of the regulars are cheaters, and they all like to pat each other on the back, it really is pathetic.

I agree with the whole thing you just said. I feel cheated with this new update, I too feel that hackers have been rewarded and that we, the non-hackers will have to work freaking hard to get a decent port. It's ridiculous. I have been playing this game for a year now and have put up with every * EA has done, from the crashes, to the ridiculous prices, the crashes and more crashes and still gave them over 60$.

This thing here, having to wait a day for a tile...that is IF a friend doesn't steal it from you first, is totally unbalanced. It's taken the fun out of the update. I was so looking forward to the squidport, now I'm bored.

There is a lot of good game on Iphone, I'm having a lot of fun with clash of clans for months now, even paid for it also, and I NEVER had thins kind of feeling towards the game and their makers.

EA, get your * straight for once, we love your games, but you suck in customers relations.

This game or update wasn't designed with hackers in mind. Someone please explain to me how you can stop hackers? The more popular a game is the more people will try to hack it. Not much they can do to about it always a new hack coming out somewhere. Best to play the game the way you want and not to let these type of things worry you. End of story

You can't steal it. The tile just disappears. No one gets an advantage if someone taps anothers tile. That means it's most certainly a kind of glitch... It will be fixed eventually.

I think the reason why hacking is not stopped is because it is not a competitive game. There is no advantage over other players by hacking. Like someone said before it may actually inspire others to spend real $$ on the game. I would like some of the premium studd but won't spend real $$ o it because it is so over priced but I am also not motivated/ care enough to hack my iPad to get the apps needed to hack games.

I have an honest request. Can someone please tell me how to expand the light blue water, so I can expand my pier, and still have room to place the houseboat, which is now in storage, because i'm about to go insane.

    Thanks.

I know you can't STEAL it, but if someone taps on it, it disapears and you have to start all over. How dumb is that? I have a 12h tile that is due in the middle of the night, am I supposed to put the alarm on everynight to get the tile before someone taps it??? Or should I get rid of all my friends??

tell me if you have a better solution. Anyway, this looks like the snake bug in the first days of Whacking event. Hopefully this will change.

This! Maybe we're both just paranoid, but it's definitely a feeling I get on this game / forums

Someone posts a picture of 100+ snake speakers, and people comment in awe at how many donuts that would have cost, or something. Don't be fooled people

I agree completely. While completely people legitimately spend money on this game but when i see fully decked out ports the first thought is WOAh something is definitely wrong here. And it usually is peepz it usually is..

While people happily spend money on premium characters and buildings and spend on buy items no one in their right mind will spend money speeding up any task. Speeding up with donuts is just a sure giveaway to hackers. hehe atleast thats what goes thru my head.

WoW. That is very well put man. Salute to you. Thats how i exactly feel. Even if i had all the donuts in the world i wouldn't speed up that process first of its really stupid to waste donuts on speeding up tiles. I mean the first few tiles were prefectly fine becuase they cost 2 ..4 ...8 ...donuts man but 18 donuts plus for 1 tile >> Comeon people.

ROFl.. love the witch hunting..need to rename the game to Salem's lot.. Hang-um high!!

Really other than having someone admit to you that they use hacks, there is no way for us here on the forums to know for sure if they use a modified game in TSTO..

If I had the free cash just sitting there I would prolly speed stuff up, so I imagine those with the excess earnings, Probably do..

Not really a good idea to start calling folks out with nothing more than suspicion and speculation.. I would really hate to see the forums here be seen by new comers as a "bunch of unfriendly head hunters.." your best course of action would be to File a report directly to EA..that way there's no embarrassment for someone being falsely accused. or you for falsely accusing someone..

If you really think EA has no clue to who is using modified game files etc to cheat the system, guess again..as a looong time gamer I have witnessed many times over many years and games, EA, DICE, Etc waiting for a month or better, tallying up player names who have been suspected of using cheats, investigating them... and just when the cheaters think "all is cool".. bam!! banned accounts, banned ip adresses, etc.. usually see a hundred or so compliants on the games forums within minutes..I laugh my rear off each time I see the gripes start..even more so If its one of the cheaters I reported.. ;)

and since most of folks accounts are tied to either apple or android accounts, they could get thier accounts there suspended for using reverse enginered files as a violation of the TOS..Would suc to loose your Phone carrier access over a few donuts.. LOL
