Except when the quest forced me to play on the dogtracks (that time I won), I have never ever won on the dogtracks. Played a few times and then stopped. Now after the update, and after this thread, I tried for the first time in a few weeks... played on 2:1 odds, and... lost...

I will try it a few more times, the math in this thread seems sound. I hope I fare better on my next try in a few hours.

Yeay, won the second time I tried after the Squidport update. This means I'm now in plus so far, so if I lose next time, I'll break even, and if I win, I'll get even further ahead. I really think this works now.

Very good thread! Yes, I agree, it's far more worthwhile to take the chance at the track now.

Now I'm off to try and win the big one!

Before the dog race alteration update I lost 5 times in a row, I have now tried three times since and lost a further 3 times, now breaking my record of 5 to 8 times without a single win. :?

I bet once yesterday and once today. Won the $6000 prize each time. I'm going to try a third time tomorrow and see what happens. (Waiting 24 hours because I'm a little superstitious.) Maybe I'll try my luck a a golden scratcher next. :D

Anyone want to hear a bad luck story?

I always bet on the highest payout. Even when it was a dumb idea, I just wanted to see if I could ever actually win. Never, not once did I win by choosing the "worst" odds.

So, since the update...I am still staying with the trend. I pick "Not a chance" as my dog of choice...99 to 1 odds. my kind of Dog! Well, the Rich Texan had just got out from visiting the track and I had him celebrate cowboy style right in front of Springfield Downs. It looked like a great pic opportunity, so I went for it...while my race was still running. But, the idiot I must be, didn't take the pic right and I closed the app. Oh well, no big deal. I jump back into the game and the race details came up right away. Not a chance is the winner! Payout $0. D'oh! Bye bye 200k.

Been testing this to make sure I'm not crazy. If you choose the dog that wins and you accidentally close the app...even if they win, you get no payout. So don't make stupid mistakes...lesson of the day.

At least it was only $$, LOL!

I bought a golden scratcher, and after winning the big jackpot on that, I thought, man I need a pic. I was so worried while doing this, I kept thinking I would screw up and close the app and lose the 100 donuts. It can be kinda tricky with the phone cover I have and taking a pic with the I phone.

Thankfully, it all worked out and I took the pic without a problem. But. . . I thought of what if?

Now I have played four times in total since the update, every single time on 2:1 as the OP suggests. I am currently at 1 win and 3 losses... So far I actually manage to lose with these odds too... Nice going.

I played the 9:1 odds today for the 4th time and ended up winning for the first time. I guess that beats the odds.

I'm hoping you're right. I've won twice so far, but I've lost ten times. Not looking good so far unless I'm in for a hel,of a winning streak later.

Now its eleven times with only two wins. I'm beginning to question the math in this.

This topic made me want to race. I got " Due to the declining popularity of dog racing, the dogs line up and cross the line together. but still someones got to win and it's xxxx"

not the 2:1 race I bet on. And now I need to find an extra 2 grand to build Zestys tonight. Grinding for me after dinner.

I have been betting this every time and every time taking the 2:1 dog. Winning more than 50% of them so well ahead.

If you are having trouble I would just bet the 2:1 horse a while as it wins slightly more than 50% of the time.

Later on I may try some longer odds but for now this has been a steady producer.
