I can't wait either - the only thing that always put me off superman was that people were so stupid not to see he was Clark Kent. Some of the actors were bloody obvious! I hope they did a good job.

They do it really well in man of steel, I don't want spoil anything for you but he only puts on the glasses in the very final scene of the movie and it's done in a way that makes it none cheesy and stupid...it's obvious in the final scene lois lane knows who Clark Kent is.

Hmmm that's hard to answer, it's not as good as the dark knight, but certaintly on par with batman begins and better than the dark knight rises. I'd say it's better than all the iron man movies, possibly with the exception of iron man 1, however it's hard to compare man of steel against these other movies, cause its offering something totally different.

It's all going to come down to if you like the origins of the Clark Kent/kal-el character the way it was intended to be in line with the comics.

What made the dark knight movies so good was Nolan took the batman franchise and made Bruce Wayne have more depth to his character with conflict/sadness/desperation which is why we could relate to a superhero and imagine him to be real, as if this could be somebody in our reality instead of just our imagination and in some ways this is what Snyder has done to superman, he's basically given the character more depth and made him more "human" so you can relate to the character and understand the sacrifices/frustration and confusion it is for him as an alien raised as a human on earth who has to find his origins and take on the responsibility that both his biological and earth fathers have raised him to become.

Just like the line from the trailer his biological father jor-el "you will give the people of earth an ideal to strive towards, they will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But I time they will join you in the sun, in time you will help them accomplish wonders". That is what really sums up the Clark Kent in man of steel and what sets the tone for what I am sure will be a very successful franchise of movies.

Thanks for the heads up on 3D. I wasn't planning to spend money to see it in 3D because lately most 3D movies just aren't worth the money. IMAX...sometimes.

I love when they go more into who the character is and how they go to be. I'm super excited to see this movie Friday afternoon when I get off work.

Thanks everyone for giving your in depth opinions without spoiling it :)

On a more serious note, this movie was great.

The two (very small) problems I had were these,

-supermans father said that the gravity on their planet was heavier, so in theory, superman could acutally jump super high.
I spent the whole movie wondering why he was able to fly, it's always been a superpower with superman, but it doesn't made sense
-the last scene was a bit silly, a good way to end it, but I didn't really see how [deleted due to spoiler].

    Liked it a lot.

Henry Cavill + Amy Adams = awesome.
