Character movement around town

Do you think it would be better if characters could only walk down roads, across pavements, lawns, etc rather than through walls, hedges, fences and across water? It would make people have to factor this into their town designs. It would also make it easier to work out where people are - you could cut off the prison with water to keep Snake contained if you wanted to.

It was that way a long time ago.

Or at least it wasn't as ridiculous as it is now.

Someday they'll fix it. Hahahaha!

Yes, I thought it has got worse recently. A lot of characters moonwalk across town now when sent on a task.

The one thing I thought couldn't go unnoticed for so long and still has, is that bloody random item it selects when you specifically select something else. Takes like 20 taps for it to finally pick what you are trying to move.

I get that all the time but I assumed it was an issue with my touchscreen. But then thinking about it, it doesn't happen with other apps, so poor analysis on my part. Doh!:lol:

I can't stand that, even if you zoom in it sometimes doesn't work!

+1. The good ol' days when characters didnt teleport, moon walk over water, or walk through buildings :)

Seriously! The other day I was setting everyone on tasks and they just teleported to where they needed to be. Now if it came with maybe a transporter animation like in Star Trek, it could stay that way.

Would love it and would like to place characters in fences (e.g. Pet snake..)

I've found that when you are redesigning, if you tap on an item/decoration, but then cancel by pressing the X it will select other items around it.
I think, and it's only a theory in my head.... Is that the redesigning option was done this way because they assume you are done moving that particular item/decoration, so to avoid picking it again, because of the close proximity of the other items/decorations, (and some of us having sausage fingers ;-P ) they move onto other nearby items....

It is programmed to cycle through the near-by items - likely because of the reason you mentioned. I'd rather it be that kind of annoying than trying to select something and having to store everything around it because I can't quite get that one section of flower behind a tree.

I agree HWick_Bluenose. I've found that if I get out of design mode, then go back into design mode, I can pick up the item I wanted. Though sometimes I have to move around town a bit before I go back into design mode.

The moon walking and walking through buildings is kind of a bummer. Dr. Nick and Lenny usually get lost when I send them on tasks. They walk the wrong way, go through a couple buildings, then head the right direction.

Hopefully if they do fix it, characters stroll on the boardwalk more!

I don't find it too much of a problem, if it happens I just move onto other items or come out of the 'redesigning option' then back in and I can select what I want :-)

The moonwalking seems to be a big trend, lately. I never noticed it occurring so often.
