They got it right.

Yes, I think this was a fair and well balanced update!

Does anyone else think that EA managed to do a really good job of this update? I'm not even American and I love this update (stereotypical I know).

A new skin for Apu - I love this and the fact that it was free
Diner and Rex Bannerman - Personally I love this building. so unique and fresh looking
Liberty bell - I'm a big fan of these items you get from completing mini events, like the clover topiary from the * Patrick's day update.

I usually buy most premium items, but I think I'll give these Deco's a miss, but I will most likely be picking up Abe soon.

In my opinion they did a great job with the FREE items in this update, the premiums should be seen as an 'added bonus' and not the 'centre of attention' which they really nailed in this update.

I love this Update, too :)

Love this update. The new decorations are great. Provided the 'spark' (sorry) I needed to re-design the old and design the new :). Only thing I don't like is the flag, but I seem to be in the minority.

I think it's a great wee update, I like the free stuff.

Only downside is the cost of the cabin, if it had been a pound or so I would buy it without thinking, don't mind putting a little into the game, but i'm just not willing to pay £7 in for one item. It's one of my favourite premium items so far ( that has been available while I've been playing). I wish there had been a way to 'earn' it, like with WD.

Not too fussed on the firework decorations for my town, but they do look good in other people's designs.

Its very similar to the Saint Patrick's Day update, which was (IMO) the best non-event holiday so far.

edit. I forgot the abbreviation for Saint is a bad word here.

The cost of the items is very reasonable, in my opinion. Especially considering that the Statue of Lisa and the Box of Fireworks come with 2.5% and 2.25% bonuses, respectfully.

Liberty bell is this part of the quest line? I see no decoration to buy yet.

Great update and I prefer these decorations over the others mainly the box of fireworks because of the animation although they are costly at 50 donuts but the 2.25% bonuses is really helpful

You get the Liberty Bell when you finish the quest with Apu and Rex Banner.

This was an awesome update. I think the free stuff was way better than the premiums, although I do love the fireworks.. Just so many cool places to put them.

I think this is a great update. Rex Banner & the Diner for free along with the flag & liberty bell. On a side note, never would I have thought that we would be Abraham Lincoln as a playable character. This opens up for so many possibilities

But, but it takes like nearly a week to get the Liberty Bell if you don't fork out money to buy donuts....

Yet another rip by EA to make us spend money to get a free item....b

Yes, but if you have patience you can get the Liberty Bell for free, and also enjoy gameplay along the way.

Sorry guys, I thought the  would of given it away.

It was sarcasm, slightly directed at those who complained about the Squidport update.
