I don't adhere to the drive-thru-
One of my towns has a river running along side a Krusty's for boat-thru access--if we ever get gondolas.
For the other 2-
There was a surge in drive-thru robberies--so I stuck bushes in front of the windows and closed them.
Hhhmmmmm. . .the people are also too big for the buildings, Flanders can morph into the devil, there's a Mayan ghost walking around aimlessly, not to mention the numerous paws and hands that keep protruding from the graveyards, walking, talking stuffed animals that are, oh yeah, armed, and a robot dog, and your miffed about road placement? Oh wait, it's a game based on a cartoon. To each their own and have fun. One Person's faux pas is another's piece de resistance.

Is Moe hiding out to find out who the perps are so he can tell the Chief and they can split the booty?!
This is how I originally set it up months ago. I haven't thought of anything better to change it to.
You could put wooden fencing as a perimeter around the balloon (as opposed to barbed wire) and add a swing-set; make it into a playground like some McDonalds and Burger King's have.
The only people who have cars in my town are the cops, EMS, and Burns. Burns doesn't go to the krusty burger, EMS don't have time for it what with all the people with radiation poisoning, and the cops are eternally parked at the donut shop. I didn't see a need for a drive thru. As they said, no one drives anywhere, they walk around aimlessly.
when i go through a drive through it usually doesn't have a road beside the window it has a parking lot that you drive in.
I think you're taking the meaning of 'road' too literal
A road can be defined as a stretch of pathway from one point to another for vehicles, just like emcee posted a pic of
So no need for the psuedo intellect attempts my friend
Actually, on Tapped Out, if you say road, people are going to assume you mean the actual ROAD, as in the road/street with sidewalks. Pavement is the name for the cement pathway without sidewalks. I also don't know of anyone who refers to parking lots or the pavement around a store as a road.
Drive throughs may not usually have pavement, but they are normally a road surface I.e. tarmac rather than concrete pavement so I tried with roads.
That said, I don't think its a requirement to make them drive-throughs! :-D
I don't have much space at the minute but squeezed my drive throughs together until I can do something better
I always space out a section in the parking area (concrete flooring) for the drive through, since most drive throughs are within the property; drive throughs are not accessed by public roads. So as long as their is space for the car to drive past the drive through ordering graphic, I don't see how the design fails in those people's "villages" as you title them.
But, to each his own. That is the creative beauty of playing this game, the "village" is up to the designer, subjectively.
The thing I've noticed about the Gulp'N'Blow and the Krusty Burger is how they have the drive-thru window next to the entrance to the building. I can see why it's had to be designed like that in-game because you can only rotate buildings two ways but I still find it amusing that you could have a car coming straight at you while trying to get in to eat.

That's what you want in a drive thru
I really must try harder

Lol
Love this
Like these? It's hard to do because the entrance Is at the same side as te window so people will get run over as drive throughs are always busy.

Will look a lot more inviting.
That's nice that you go around judging people's towns. People love hearing that!
Couple examples of what I came up with as I felt a need to accommodate the drive-thru as well.
Yah...what he said...agree 100%
