Attempting to play Tapped out on my phone (Samsung S2) has been getting harder and harder as the number of characters has grown. If I reboot the phone things work a lot more smoothly, however it soon slows down again.
Today I have installed the Android emulator on my PC and the game is working a lot better.
This suggests to me that the game may be getting too much in its present form for many phones.
Got a response through a game advisor which were tips for logging in issues, not server issues. Replied back with the info they wanted if the tips didn't work, had a response in 4 minutes, my case has been escalated.

I've been unable to sign in for almost 24 hours. I was in early yesterday, got kicked out, then have not been able to get logged back in. I've been getting kicked out of this game on a daily basis, for the last almost 2 months. It seems that as they try to add new things, the servers just can't keep up.
I'm starting to question if I want to keep playing this game........Just so frustrating!!!

I've been unable to log in on my iPad AND I-phone since Sunday. What's interesting is that my husband can get in because I think his account is on a different server. He also cannot get to my town from his account. He gets the server error message.
This is frustrating if they don't take the time to address the public with an apology and some type of message about trying to fix the problem.
Same here still not able to login. They did not fix the issue and are simply brushing us off. There lack of response in this forum shows they have not looked into it. Some users are able to access others are not. This is a server issue with specific accounts. It is not a global problem so the level at which they treat this is much lower than a system outage. It also appears alot of others are in the same place level 31, etc. We have given them all the clues yet they fail to escalate it because it only affects a handful of players.
I paid real money and will demand for a full refund if it is not fixed soon.
This is the second time in a month where a good number of dedicated players have been unable to connect and still no official announcement. I simply can't understand how it can be that a major server glitch goes without a single word from the company.
I do love the game and have spent a great deal of time and yes, real money. I've let slide the occasional hiccup of either not being credited donuts, flat out loosing donuts for no apparent reason, and all the intermittent crashes. However, the fact that EA has yet to acknowledge that there are obvious stability issues is not acceptable.
There are plenty of other games and lovely distractions out there and I am growing tired of the notoriously terrible support of the EA brand. All I ask is that EA step up, act like a grown-up company and let us know what is going on.
I've been locked out since Saturday night. I don't want to jinx anything, but I just tried logging in (as I've been doing multiple times per day), and I'm back in! It's working on my iPhone and on my Android tablet. I lost out on a few days worth of money and boardwalk tiles, but it appears as if everything is working for now.
Everyone else having problems should try and see!

Plug your phone (iPhone 5) into the computer on charge
Get to the Cannot Connect to the Server screen. Hit try again, which started the connection loop (where it automatically tries to reconnect every 15 seconds or so),
Keep doing it till you get to the standard "Tap to enter" screen then leave your phone alone.
Then as if by magic I was back into my springfield!!!!!

I am able to get in now also. It appears they finally fixed it. They continued to insist it was my device. You think they would offer some free donuts for our trouble, but this is EA after all.

Tried uninstalling, re-installing, all to no luck.

And no word of what the problem was......
