My Characters don't walk around Town

Prev1
So what do they do? Just stand around?

Have you tried storing the buildings that they came with and then un-storing them?

Whenever I get weirdness on the game, I just log out and reboot the device. It helps a lot of the time.

I think this will happen if you don't have any roads.

Either a bug, or you messed it up by taking out all of your streets.

Sorry to dense, but I'm still not sure I completely understand the problem. They walk to a specific location in order to perform a task, okay. What about tasks that involve moving around the town, such as Ned's power walk or when Burns walks his hounds? -- do they move around the town in those cases? Is it only when they are not engaged in a task that they aren't moving? As someone else suggested, some pics might help to clarify.

So you're saying they just stand still in place unless they're assigned a task?

I might not mind that myself. My guys are always running and hiding behind buildings and trees when I'm trying to assign them jobs. :P

My characters are also running and hiding after they finish their tasks, and I sometimes need to count while assigning them tasks.

Mishved, have you tried storing and putting the buildings back? I am curious, it's a weird situation.

Mine do that too... Now that I have 25 characters running around it is all too easy to miss some, especially the kids. I have to double-check that I got them all by going into move mode and making houses and decorations transparent.

I generally miss one, if I don't double-check and you're right it is too easy to miss the kids (ex. yesterday I had missed one kid for 12 hour task). This double-checking, counting thing might be painful for me when I assign one hour task for hours. After 6 hours, my eyes feel strange because of running after over 30 characters.

Ok...i changed my roads to curbless roads AKA pavement last week thinking it looked "better'....turns out that is the reason my people would not walk ...now i changed to proper road surface and I'm good again...thanks for the efforts guys

I started to ask about that when you first posted, but didn't. I guess I thought it was obvious to everyone since I have a mix in my town and can clearly see that the characters never leave the road and walk on the pavement.

This is a helpful thing to consider doing intentionally for those of us losing characters though. If I replace my "suburb" and "neighborhood" roads with pavement then I can keep all my characters in the middle of town where all the shops and buildings are.

Glad you found the solution to your problem!
