Anyone else having a ball with the Christmas update?

Prev1
It really is a blast. New currency is exciting and has made visiting friends even more fun; A plethora of new buildings, characters and premium items; the new look makes everyone's towns look really pretty and it's cool finding the new little details and animations; and on top of all that bug fixes and performance improvements!

All in all, Christmas did indeed come early this year.

I really like it too! Haven't been able to play too much yet. Plus I find the game still crashes a lot for me. So sometimes I give up. Anyway - going to try to add both of you. I will visit daily.

    Thanks!

Yep! Totally loving it. These periodic themed updates are really the joy of the game for me (though I play daily the rest of the time, too). Perfect timing for me since I'm out of work recovering from foot surgery, so I have all day to tap tap tap!

It's amazing how different everything looks with snow. I'm not doing much rearranging (lack of funds/space), but I HAD to get rid of all my flowers/shrubs with covers. I just hated how they looked...they'll be back when grass returns!

I'm loving it, my iPad's battery has been suffering torture since the update. I'm building the Mapple building at the moment and can't wait for it to be finished. The update has also made visiting friends a lot more enjoyable.

However the one thing I won't be doing (likely) is redesigning. I was hoping we would be able to place snow manually and I'm not sure if I wanna move my whole neighbourhood around (which can be a pretty tedious task in itself) just for a month, only for the snow to be completely gone afterwards. Not to mention the only real 'decoration' brought in was a lamp post. Not much to work with there!

I'm diggin it. Love the snow & how it gives all buildings & decorations a holiday feel. Love the new characters. Especially Dr. Nick Riviera. Can't wait to get Barney and the Bowlarama

I also like the coins. Although I'm not diggin the cost of some of the stuff. But I guess its challenging, because it gives me something to look forward to. All in all, the devs did an outstanding job on this update.

Amazing BEAUTIFUL update, makes me wish I had snow for real! I have been careful about decorating so I may move a few things as needed but no major renovations. I am in love with some of my friends towns, and so jealous at the size of some of them, wow!

I'm having a ball collecting coins. I love how you get a coin for every decorated house you tap on, unlike just a *chance* of getting a treat for the Halloween patch. Much nicer. :)

Anyone else feel less like doing major construction/renovation now that everything's covered in snow? ;)

    P.S.
Decorate your brown houses! Build more for your neighbors!

Yup busy with hacked donuts.. LOL

Ooh, not me. I love this update and it looks so nice but I can see myself looking forward to when it gets back to normal again. For some reason I can't quite picture the whole layout in the same way - I won't be doing any major redesigns until the next update as the snow seems to throw things off somehow. Still looks pretty in the meantime.

Haha, visiting friends is MUCH more enjoyable! One, I can actually do it now...all throughout November my game would freeze whenever I tried to visit neighboring Springfields (but at least I could still do my own stuff). Two, the stacking formula for increasing money per visit is amazing! Got up to $203/house before the game crashed (had 8 houses to go at that point). It's a shame that EA didn't take intermittently getting booted out into account...makes you start back at the beginning when you return two seconds later. Oh well.

My iPad battery is none too happy either...going through an entire charge per day, but it's so worth it!

I would love some snow on the roads, but still recognizable as roads, maybe with footsteps on the sidewalk, would be great

This is how I feel about it. The devs did a wonderful job with this update. They exceeded everyone's expectations, which is something I didn't think was possible reading this board leading up to it. I do look forward to going back eventually though, as I was planning a redesign but I don't think I'll be able to do it with everything so white.

It would be nice to have snow as a facade at the end of the update though, let the player decide how they want their town.

Mine is crashing now when it never was before. odd.

But I agree, it's pretty. I have 100 friends but I am removing all people who don't have the Christmas tree and are not doing Christmas tasks to move towards decorating their houses, and I'm adding new ones. I don't want to miss a day of coin collecting because I want SLH. Those 20 brown houses I have are paying off for my friends as they are all decorated. :)

Oh yeas, I also won't be doing much decorating right now. It's pretty but you can't see the flowers and stuff. And, some of the 3D effects don't look right covered in snow. But, it's nice for now.

Absolutely loving every minute of play. I ended getting a little too carried away and spent most of my donuts on goodies so not much of those left but i've got the Santa Village and a few other goodies in return. Up to 11 different houses decorated, a couple of xmas trees and saving those xmas coins like crazy.

Brilliant job all round! & May I say how stoked I am for Krustylou Studios, Sideshow Mel AND the cannon - way up high on my secret list of character wishes!!

Definitely agree here. My iPad battery has been drained almost to the end numerous times. Love that we are guaranteed a coin when tapping on a friends house that's decorated.

I say I want it to snow forever, but mostly because it's something new. I'm sure after a month I'll get sick of it like real snow and welcome the change back to normal.

I think the snow is brilliant, but I wouldn't want it to stay too long. I don't really like the leaf-less trees, so might replace them all with evergreens while this lasts. Gonna enjoy setting up holiday scenes too. It's gonna be odd when it goes...
