If it weren't for Nelson I would have no idea what to do!

LOL. You're right. I took that screencap while I was IN my own town so my picture shows the handshakes. The visitor sees the icons for each building instead of the handshakes. (E.g. The eightball over channel Six and the crop over the farm. ). I can't get a picture of that.

    But you're absolutely right. Doh!

Do you have to always leave at least one handshake for this to work? I had a tile waiting to be collected and my neighbor tapped it, so I clicked it and it just threw out the one tile.

Do you have to avoid having a character doing a task at the Channel 6 building for this to work? What I mean is, if a character is finished with his task at Channel 6, can I tap that character without clearing the handshakes?

    Thanks

You do not have to, as there is a way to tap to get rid of the character and not remove the handshake, but it is tricky and I would not recommend it. Send the characters elsewhere

    Thanks Brett, much appreciated.

Another question, any idea why my tile and my farm only seem able to hold two handshakes? Very rarely will they hold 3 handshakes, almost always they will only hold two.

    Thanks

I have no idea on that one, but some people reported the same problem with the tile bonus, so it may well be like that one

Have you tested this theory yourself with a couple of feeder towns?

I have tested my guide using feeder towns, but my town did not experience the "only two handshakes" issue. That information came from some of my neighbors who I had been coordinating with. In my towns you can see the pictures I posted, as they received multiple handshakes as long as I resynced after each visit

This may be a silly question but which tile do I need to tap?

Thanks for all the great info! I've just started playing 2 months ago, and I try to be a good neighbour, so all this is really helpful! Just saving up to get my SP going, but I'm happy to help others and save up some good karma for when I need tiles tapped. I'm at level 28, but pretty far behind due to all the extra experience earned during Halloween visiting, however I noticed a lot of neighbours stopped visiting since then. :?

The floating one above the SP entrance. It's the most recent one that the owner has build (i.e. a new one, not one that has already been placed.)

Thats this whole 'tile' thing about? Is this just a term used for getting the xp for visiting as you would at any time? Or is something going on???

Guide to Glitches (Tiles, Stage, Farm, TV6)

Okay, since we have witnessed the advent of “Tile-gate"), which has many of us frantically tapping each other’s SP tiles, staggering our neighbor visits, and pm-ing each other in order to ensure we maximize our profit, I thought I would explore other possible bonuses for buildings in the past that just did not make any sense to tap on (this also comes with a big heads up from Indy2nd):

    - SP Tile
    - Open Air Stage
    - Cletus Farm (yes I know you could revive a dead crop)
    - Channel 6

Here is how it works to ensure you get the maximum number of XP, etc:

    With Tiles:
If you enter a friends SF and tap on your friends tile,
then they enter their SF and collect that tile,
if you go back to their SF and then tap the tile again
THEN your friend gets a second tile then they collect

Of course that pattern can be repeated a third time as well for a total of 3 tiles

If you just were to tap, leave, tap, leave, tap you would get more XP, but would only be giving your neighbor 1 tile (and 1 is still good), whereas if you stagger your visits (visit in the morning, afternoon, and at night) it gives them an opportunity to log in and clear their tile (hence why many are pm-ing each other).

Thank you so much!! I was finally able to get the tile taps!:mrgreen:

The tile being talked about is the Squidport boardwalk tile you can create by tapping the SP (Squidport) entrance. When it's done the tile (icon) will be visible above the entrance, just like the dollar sign above houses, the crop sign above Cletus' Farm etc.

When visiting a friend's Springfield you can tap this tile as well (when it's ready). The OP explains in his post how you can help friends by tapping a friends tile, crop or channel 6.

Apparently (at least for me) if your crop dies you loose whatever handshakes were on it.

As a rule, I keep two handshakes on all this "stuff" because I have mis-tapped my Squidport tile twice now.

I had 2 handshakes on my farm this morning. I was visiting friends and when I came back to my SF, my crop had died. I left it, and later someone revived it. However it only had on handshake on it. I lost the two that were on it.

So, I guess the point is, don't let too many handshakes build up on your farm or you could loose them.

Axed 12 more neighbors. I think that's it now. Everyone else is an active tapper, visiting at least once every few days.

If you need a daily tapper, add me: jenichu682.

    Tap you soon!
