STILL no fix???? This is madness. Everyone in the same boat (making a purchase, game crashes, can't get past Fox screen, prompted for iTunes password on occasion) yet EA haven't released a fix?
This is what I've done:
Plugged in my iPhone to my laptop. Synced successfully.
Viewed my 'Apps' screen on the laptop in iTunes library. Uninstalled TSTO. Synced.
Unplugged my device, hard reset. When restarted, plugged back into my laptop. Synced.
Viewed my 'Apps' screen on the laptop and re-installed TSTO (was still Halloween as hadn't backed up since 24/10). Synced.
Pending download available in App store. Downloaded update.
Started TSTO. It downloaded new updates.
Logged in. Was warned that 'My other device didn't save your Springfield. Please log in there before continuing' - I don't have another device so I clicked 'Play Now'. It warned me that I may have lost data. I'm in.... everything seems up to date, minus the Golden Scratchcard.

I tried everything mentioned here and this worked for me. Luckily I had a back up before this happened.
Deleted app, backed up. Restored older back up and reinstalled app. Opened and the massive download started. Seems to be working fine now.
I've been locked out a week after trying to purchase a golden scratcher. Tried some of the tips mentioned in this thread but I'm not a fan of a hard reset. How can I find an older backup to restore from? Des anyone know how to get the update in the current non loading situation?
I've tried all of the tips listed in this thread and the only thing that worked was doing a factory reset and choosing new device. Even a factory reset and restore from iCloud with all of the apps re-installing didn't work. I wasn't happy with all that I lost with a complete reset so I went back to the restore from backup. I'd rather not lose everything else on my phone just to get this game to work. I opened a case with EA and was told it's "been escalated to one of our specialized teams" but no timetable for a fix. Until then I'm left with playing on my old iPhone 3GS. Its ridiculously slow so until it works on my 5s again I'm down to playing once a day.
Being expected to perform a full wipe to factory settings in order to make one game app work is a bit extreme. Though I can play this on my old rooted nook color(albeit extremely laggy), I will likely sit it out and wait for a proper update and patch before I play again.

Just adding myself to the every increasing list! I have exactly the same issue. EA did reply saying the problem had been escalated, but that was a few days ago. The last time this happened, it only started working again when an update was released through the App Store and that was a couple of months!
Tried everything listed here except for rollback/reinstall. Has a better solution than re-doing my whole game been reached? I have well over a million dollars, and have maxed out on all the items in the game prior to the thanksgiving update. Yes, thousands of donuts, so do the math. Yes, I've spent way too much on this game, but that intensifies this problem. Please do something about this, or you can forget any future income from this source, EA. That's not a threat. It's a promise.
THIS IS INSANE. I submitted a ticket to EA and after 4 days, I get a response telling me to turn the device off and that should fix it - really? Ive reset my device, deleted the game, reinstalled the game, nothing works. I am furious at the lack of accountability here. RIDICULOUS! I know we can request a refund for the purchase that caused the crash but that isn't the main problem - the main problem is EA's lack of accountability to this widespread issue.

Yeah already did. Thanks. We must not be costing them much money yet when they notice a dip in sales they will fix it....
Sadly, that's what I think. This minor dip in revenue is not worth the time to roll out a speedy fix. My guess is that this won't resolve until we the next scheduled iTunes update. :evil:
The exact thing has happened to me a few days ago. I cannot play it on my iphone anymore, but if I try and load it on my iPod touch then it works. I have no interest on playing on my touch because it is way toooo slow. I will not be resetting my phone to the factory setting to fix the glitch, so if it cannot be fixed then I will no longer be playing

Does EA not WANT our money? If not, I can go elsewhere. I've been a big fan and supporter of this game so I'm loathe to do so.
