Seriously! I demand the church of the flying spaghetti monster also be recognized in this fantasy game world that for whatever reason I need recognition in.
Doesn't matter my friend, I'm not jewish either, but I think it's ridiculous that other holidays are not recognized. especially for a game that makes so much money. At least do something for Krusty. Bring in the temple and the rabbi. Something! Then again, maybe we won't even get a holiday update this year, apparently the programmers are still sleeping from their tryptophan overdose.

you do know this game is based on the Simpsons
they cant just start adding stuff because they want to if it has not been on the simpsons before
LMAO, why not let them fight their own fight then? The only person here complaining for Jewish holidays doesn't celebrate them? Did you read that at all before you posted it?
I'm going to take up the cause of the Choctaw nation. I think that their holidays should be recognized by TSTO, and get their own updates, despite the fact that I need to google how to spell Choctaw, and no absolutely nothing about them.
I'm an atheist. I demand that every bit of church going in the game be stopped... Oh, no? Of course not but you do see that the choice to celebrate a religious holiday is up to each individual?
If they turn this game into one, continuous world-wide religious holiday event, I guarantee you that I'd stop playing. And I'd bet that the churchy joes that play would be horrified and quit and the Jews wouldn't especially enjoy a month of Islam and the Muslims wouldn't be too keen on a month of Chanukah. It's a deal breaker to include everybody's dogma. We accept Christmas because it's everywhere during this time of the year. You can't throw a dead cat out of your car without hitting a mall Santa.
This game is based on Matt Groening's ironic sense of the absurd. He is an atheist... But he isn't dragging that non-belief through the show except by illustrating his feelings by creating Ned Flanders.
I understand not putting something in the game unless it's in the simpsons, but two things. First off, Krusty is Jewish, so there is no reason not to have something, even a menorah decoration. Two, maybe I'm a little confused, but where in the Simpsons Universe did Santa coins exist before last years Christmas Update?

Because there is Jewish characters, and they have had some episodes about his heritage, I can see maybe something small during the Christmas update. But not a whole update. Also Christmas is so commercialized that it's not really religious anymore lol. I don't believe there is a god but I celebrate Christmas because I have since I was born.

I feel a sh1tstorm brewing...
I was going to post something very similar... "if you religious types all get your holidays represented, what do I get as an atheist" kinda thing.
(Incidentally there's a book floating about on the topic of religion in the Simpsons that tries to argue that they're a good wholesome Christian example. It's a really funny read.)
People are such whiners these days. Every little thing offends them. Next thing you know we'll have someone who wants to take the word Christmas out of the update and replace it with holiday.
Also if they're going to celebrate Hanukah, they will need to celebrate Boxing Day on December 26th. Which I think everyone would enjoy because to celebrate it they'd have to put donuts on sale. Boxing Day started off as parents who could afford to buy presents for their children would box up their children's old toys and give them to people who couldn't afford Christmas. Now it's celebrate with week long sales with everything up to 75% off.

I know that we do it to a lesser extent and in a much less organized fashion, but

I've yet to meet a single atheist who gives a crap about changing Christmas into Holidays. That's a bunch O' Crap centered around a tiny faction of idiots who get a lot of press. Most of us are just happy to not have a JW or a Mormon knocking on our door while we try to squeeze in a nap.
I know thousands of atheists and not one has ever mentioned that having someone say Merry Christmas is offensive.

Here's a screenshot of it.
