It doesn't make any sense to me. I get that you will receive a free spin coin for every 1000 cards after 30k, but is it worth it? Think about it, you can spend an hour going through all your friends and get 2 or 3 coins. Or, you can go to work for an hour, buy a lot of donuts, and get way more than 2 or 3 coins (as well as support the game so EA continues it).
Same with the GOO at Halloween. It boggled my mind how people were so eager to spend hours and hours to get 3 "free" donuts. How can it possibly be fiscally responsible to spend 2 hours to get 3 donuts as opposed to working and just buying donuts?
*This of course does not apply to unemployed people and children who are unable to buy donuts cuz their parents don't allow it.
Aaargh! Hypocrisy filter on overload ... overlo ...
People may use their money as they want to, as long as they are not hurting other people with their obsession
I am spending a little money, but not a lot. Everyone have to find out what they want, and let other do as they want.
I don't care what people do with their own money, but when they buy tons of donuts in the first week of an event and then complain that they were "forced" to buy them to achieve their god-given right to get every single prize without which life won't even be worth living, that is a very different thing. People who complain about actions they took purely of their own free will deserve to be "bashed."
Who's getting coins from their friends towns? I've made 200 visits and all I get is gift cards. Thought the egg nog bar, gifts, and the bonus gift cards were the only way. I'd love to be wrong on this.
Answer to the original question: cause it's the internet. Honestly this is one of the most civil sites I've seen. Go on YouTube, or gamefaqs. Some really rude people out there.
I found it strange that people will rush buy everything as soon as an update is released. You get like a month to win prizes ans stuff so it seems a little rash to pay for everything on day one. Not so much strange for the monetary reasons actually, strange because it takes all the fun out of it. Like how when you were a kid you bought those magazines to assemble a working model of the human body or build a model plane over like 2000 issues when you could just buy one for like 20 bucks. It's just more fun to spread it out than to buy it all on day one then make a "where's the next update" thread. You know?

Perhaps a bit hypocritical, but it is also stating the other side of the argument. There are a ton of threads about the wheel and each contain a bunch of comments on how people are so stupid because they spend donuts buying spins. No one is saying the opposite side that for some, it makes more financial sense to just buy the donuts instead of spending hours and hours to get just a portion of what they would get if they had bought donuts.

I don't buy donuts anyway, but I am salaried. I work 40 hours a week or I work (more likely) 60 and I get paid the same. So it's a choice between an hour tapping and not getting paid or an a hour not tapping and not getting paid.
People are not bashing people who chose to buy spin coins. We're bashing on people who chose to buy spin coins and then complain about bad spins and how EA is trying to fleece them out of their money.
EA intends for you to get the spin prizes by playing the game and receiving free spin coins. Buying a spin coin is akin to speeding up this process. Do you get amazing returns for speeding up Brown Houses? Then why are people expecting
amazing returns for speeding up the spin coin prize process?
Players are frustrated that an ingame feature they really like is being put down just because a minority of unhappy spin coin buyers don't feel like they're getting their money's worth. The spin coin mechanic is perfectly fine. The problem is the players buying the spin coins and refusing to understand what they are purchasing.
I don't speed up, it takes the fun away but i have spent 150d's on tokens and i now have everything on the wheel including all the lights and snow men which i had none of before.
So 150 donuts for 8 snowmen, 2 buildings, 12 sets of decorations/lights for houses, 2 skins a yeti and an ice sculpture sound like a chuffin bargin to me
I'm a freemium player, but I'm glad when others buy donuts/coins to enhance their own game.
People spending more money on the game lets EA make a bigger profit which then leads to EA investing more in paying developers to making the game better and thus benefitting me.
I'm waiting for now (tapping away) and I'll buy some donuts during the sale where we get 25% more donuts (because I believe in supporting games/books/music/movies that I enjoy even tho I'm cash poor) and if by the first week of January I don't have what I want from the Christmas update I'll use some of the donuts to acquire it.
So please, I actively encourage you to spend as much as you want on coins to make the wheel spin or for any other reason you may wish to use donuts. 8)
If you think about it. If you don't get the items now, or through game play; they will be available for donuts later. That's how EA does things. I wonder how many donuts all the items will cost.
I spent 200 donuts on coins, now I've got everything from the wheel.

Since the dawning of time, those that have are the subject of criticism of those who don't.
+1
