just planted the corn crop, bad move?

Prev1
Not really. Gives you one less thing to worry about in your town. And if the tile, corn, and weather station are still stackable in three months, then it'd definitely be a wise investment.

If you're at a point where you're not going to miss that $9000 or the $600/day collection, then why not? If you're still at a point where you need to save up to buy a new building when it's released, then probably not.

Eagerly awaiting my first batch around Valentine's Day. Nothing says "I Love You" like an ear of corn.

The only bad thing is, if you can stand that side task of perfection to be grown in your task book for 3 months :)

Grown it twice. Harvested the second lot on Christmas Day :). Tbh I may well replant it again; it's nice having one less building to task everyday.

    You harvested it?
If I had corn, I would leave it for the stacking of handshakes as long as I possibly could. In fact, that's the only reason I would grow corn! (Still debating whether I should go ahead and plant it, or if it'll all be moot in three months.)

I also like the fact it's one less building to contend with :D

Maybe he doesn't need any cash?

My farm is doing nothing. Typically I grow corn, but sick of having tasks. So now I just leave it empty not growing anything. Only use channel 6 as it actually has a good payout and also good tasks.

Yeah maybe, cash is obsolete for a lot of people but surly the 9,000 exp is useful to level up, every 3 donuts count ...well they do to me

Was in my landing zone and no one tapped it in 2 days. Also my Internet is dodgey at the moment so getting on is hit and miss. Couldn't face it wilting.

Also harvesting it put me over 3mil in the bank; still got some land to buy but not much

    Ps. Thanks

I just planted corn (for the first time) XMas day. Hopefully the farm will continue to have stackable handshakes in 3 months :)

I honestly don't understand some of your game lingo. I'm new, sorry.

Stuff like perfecting, harvesting, benefits of not harvesting.

I'd only plant it for two reasons.

If I was tasked to, or there was some special date I wanted it to grow for.. I missed out on Xmas corn, because I was not around the forum that day, and didn't think otherwise.

    No worries-
Perfection- 45 second grow at the farm. Can't be done while growing corn
    Benefits- huge payout in cash/exp
    Takes 90 days to grow
Not harvesting- possible for multiple neighbours to tap on it when they visit. This allows you to harvest it multiple times (glitch in the game)

Perfection is a crop you can grow.

Harvesting is tapping on the crop icon to collect the crop and empty the farm ( or whatever ). There are a few buildings / items that will let multiple friends tap on them. To my knowledge they are:
    - the Farm
    - the News Station
    - the Squidport Tile

If you get multiple handshakes on these items, you collect multiples of whatever was there. For example if you plant tomacco and after the hour grow time has passed 5 friends come and tap your farm, you'll collect the tomacco reward for each handshake that is on the farm.

Then you can get "tricky" and can not collect the last ( or last 2 ) handshakes on your building and let others keep tapping and you keep collecting. It's obviously a larger benefit with higher payout items like the corn, or the 16 hour task on the news station or the squidport tile that gets very expensive to build very quickly.

"perfecting" is tied to perfection, the 45 second crop. You have to "harvest" it within a few seconds, or it rots.

"harvesting" means the actual tapping of the crop to collect money and xp. It comes from actual farmers collecting their crops when they are ripe for the picking.

"benefits of not harvesting" is tied to the current glitch where if you have neighbors tapping on the farm icon (before you "harvest" it yourself) then you can stack multiple handshakes and harvest the reward multiple times. So if you grew moonshine and you had 3 neighbors tap it (once again you did not harvest/collect it yourself when it was ready), then you would collect the reward 3 times instead of one like the houses.

^This. The open air stage is also "stackable."

(btw, whether it's a glitch or not is up for debate, because the developers know about it and it's still working. It's more of a feature.)

Mine wilted it only takes a neighbour tap to revive it, and your good to go for another 7 days

Did not know that. I'll bear that in mind when I grow it again
