EA: I don't care when my neighbors visit!!!! Stop notifying me!!!

I guess no one visits me...I'm so lonely...someone hold me virtually.

In all seriousness that would annoy me too. Thank god nobody likes me.

BTW if that's the case that we now get notifications of peeps that visit this could be a huge problem come Oct 1.

I don't mind notifications, because if I don't want to hear them I just turn down the volume on my device. I do want to know, however, why I've been getting such an increased level of visitors this week. Before this week, I had maybe one visit each day. This week, I've had one visit after the other. Today alone, I had like six or seven visitors. I expect an increased level of visitation next week (when Halloween starts), but why this week? Did anyone else notice this happening in their Springfields? Please don't think I resent visitors. In fact, I love visitors. I just don't get the inexplicable increase.

weird... i get friend visits but no notifications about it. and I have TSTO notifications turned on.

I have all my notifications turned OFF and am still getting notified! Why in the bleep is that happening? :evil:

Its not inexplicable :-) ihave been logging visits recently because around a third of my neighbours never visit and I wanted to do a cull and top up with more interactive friends.
In the last 3 days my daily visitors have totalled 11, 13, 12 (usual average around 7). My theory is that those who dont normally bother visiting are trying to redeem themselves to avoid getting culled and having to try to get a whole new set of friends at very short notice!

Obviously I dont include forum regulars or towns I just love to look round...... it just drives me mad when I get a random friend request from a name I have never seen before..... who then never visits! Around 25 are going on monday! This gets my number down to around 50 which is more managable.

If you are running Android you can hold your finger for a few seconds on the notification. Then choose App info. In there you can disable notifications from that specific app.

I wasn't getting notifications until I turned settings/notifications/Tapped out/- to 'Alerts' from 'None' on my device.

I don't get visit notifications though--probably because I'm always playing TSTO.
I can try to not play for longer than an hour to see if I get notified but it would be tough

I have an Android device and it is pretty funny that suddenly tonight, six hours before this monster event ends, I get notifications about who is visiting/squishing my gremlins now.
Sadly I've estimated that only about 15% of my friends out of the maxed out 100 have visited me other this event. Would have been nice sooner to have these so as to keep track. Or (as I suspect) see if someone visited but nothing was haunted- meaning they just unhaunted 3 buildings at my landing site.

What I think is interesting is that around the time of The Easter Egg update, EA actually did stop doing visit notifications.... And EVERYONE was whining about how they were sad about it and oh, how they wished they could once again have a notification saying when and which neighbor visited. Well, now it's back. Can't please everyone. There is definitely an option to turn them off, or at least quiet them. Personally I like seeing who visits.

I just got one for the first time telling my someone squished my gremlins i left and a friend visited. if this happens every time its gonna get annoying

I like knowing that my neighbors have visited, but I don't need 50 notifications a day letting me know when they do. I'd rather keep the notifications set aside for things I need to know about so I can launch the game and go take care of business. There's no need to go into the game each time someone visits, so there's no need for a notification for it.

In the end, I get tired of the constant barrage of notifications on my iPad and disable them altogether. So then I don't even get the ones I'd like to have.

This is an easy fix. Go into your apps, turn off notifications.

It's easy to turn off notifications, but unfortunately that isn't a fix. I'd like to have the notifications that are actually helpful.

That's why I don't like visiting my neighbors at night. Idk if they're sleeping or not, I oddly enough consider not wanting to wake people.
