I don't know what time zone you are in but when adding friends I found between 1400 & 1600hrs GMT I would get that message a lot but at other times during the day it would be ok

You could add your name to the add me thread on the forum and get people to add you instead if you still have no joy

Yep thanks for the requests! I'm in CET timezone but the problem doesn't seems to be tied to a particular hour.

I'll just keep spamming in the add me threads

i've recruited around 25 friends that way so far, provided that they add me

Android did that to me too, I added using my brothers iPad.
