When it comes to redesigning, do you...

Plan it (even a little) or go straight in and hope for the best? I am redesigning now and want to see what you do! Thanks :-D

There needs to be a little of both option. I usually have a small idea with a couple things and then wing the rest, also whatever areas get "messy" while I'm working on the intended one get redone on the fly as I go......

No master plan here. I just wing it.

I don't have all the land unlocked yet, but as I do open new space, I just kind of rework things here and there, letting my Springfield evolve "naturally".

I have the plan in my head…..I do it then redo it until I get the right results.

I'm always trying to improve my town so keep on moving things around, hence a large space of land to place items while carefully planning things. I just reworked my courthouse a bit moving it further back and moving the post office/library/police station forward. Now it looks and feels right. On the left next to squidport I have what I call restaurant way. I actually really enjoy this aspect of the game. Designing my town :)

I cant really calling it planning, I just adjust areas. I recently started a forested area placing bart's camp, Santa Workshop, the witches' cottage and other small items like Marge's caldron and the still.
Looking at it I realized that Fort Sensible belong there also; so I moved it from the seedy part of town to the forest area. rural area has Muntz and the Bad Dream house for now

I plan it. Actually an idea comes to me and then plan. I'll usually not act until I get motivated which could be a week or more. I've had an idea and plans brewing since Christmas but the time I spent was on the event.

The beginning part of my town is tight together. I don't have plans to change that, I'm a bit nostalgic on it.

I've only done two major changes and they were a pain in the

Never redesigned -- minus the :/

I just design as I go along and try my best. It's turned out more than fine.

I'm constantly moving something around. I always say I'm going to plan it out on paper, but never do. It's a video game, it should be fun.

It seems the majority dive in and hope for the best! I've currently got all the buildings in one area of my town waiting until I build all the land and buildings then I will design my town. I do have a rough idea of where I'm putting stuff though! Nice to hear what you do! Thanks! :-D

I like the idea of redesigning my town and get really inspired by some of my neighbours' towns.

But when I get round to it I get frustrated and then bored and ultimately end up with a bunch of buildings 'parked' on spare land until the urge strikes me again!

I always start with a general idea, and then try to enhance it without overdoing it.

I evaded up doing a pretty major redesign over the weekend when the courthouse finished building.

For the most part it was unplanned. Ended up moving things that I had no intentions to move.

My Power Plant got moved from the top right corner to to bottom right corner, and that Plant hasn't moved from that spot in nearly two years!! Lol.

Mostly when I redesign, it's to fit in the newest building, so Christmas was great fun! I find that I only redesign a tiny piece at a time, so I've never done a huge overhaul. Fitting in the course prompted a redesign of the top third of my town, though, so it was the biggest redesign I've done in a loooooong time.

I think if you have even a vague idea of where you want about 50% of ur stuff to go! the rest should flow fairly naturally.

    Happy designing!!!

I placed every single building and decoration in storage. No plans just went for it. I would say most of it turned out ok. I'll be moving a couple of buildings around and hope to have a panorama which I'll post in showcase section soon.

Usually, it starts with an idea for me. Like, I'm going to move the following buildings no one uses in to this area... and then I start thinking about it for like 3 days and planning it out in my head so when I actually get around to a redesign, I've already thought about how I want it to sort of look.

It's a plan in my head, so therefore, it's a pretty fluid design and sometimes while executing the part I've imagined other parts I didn't think of come together and work into something I like.

So I say, it's mostly a plan in my case.

Plan! I think I have a serious OCD problem! I have made a plan based on the Springfield guide, found the best way to match the buildings to the map (I have little building squares I can move around to get a decent match) and then decorate around them once placed! Takes time but I am happy with how its going!
