On my computer it shows the old app icon, but when I search on my phone I see the heart one too!

still old icon

Yeah the simpsons tapped out page is still showing the old pic, that's the second one down. But the top one is a link that opens the Apple App Store on my iPhone, and that's a new icon. You'll only see a link to the App Store on an iwhatever device.

I think that Valentines thumbnail is different from last years thumbnail, no? If so then it could mean something. I thought last year's had homer running from the finger, not walking with it like the Christmas update.

It is. The V-day one from last year was the only one to not just feature Homer. It also had Bart as Cupid.

I noticed that the App Store still has the old icon also, but that won't change until after an update is released. But the links to the game in the App Store show a new icon. Obviously it doesn't mean much one way or another. I just noticed and thought I'd share.

TBH, the Valentine's icon looks like a photoshopped version of the Christmas splash screen. Could it be a hoax? (Not saying that Valentine's Day isn't coming; but, that icon is a hoax.)

I don't know why Facebook or Apple would want to pull a hoax. Anybody that has an iPhone and don't believe me, open Facebook for iPhone and search the simpsons, that is the pic shown for the iTunes App Store direct link.

I just checked on my IPad and IPhone. The Facebook screenshot that was posted is legit. I agree that it would be odd for Facebook and/or Apple to use a photoshopped icon.

I vaguely remember this kind of icon change happened once before, either right before Halloween or Christmas. I'll check for the thread but the update dropped within 24-48 hrs.

Edit: Here's the thread. According to the thread, icon shenanigans started 12/4 and the update dropped 12/5...
