Hearts from neighbours

I think it's 30 taps (=10 neighbours) each with 5, 4, 3 and 2 hearts and then the rest of 60 with 1 heart. Meaning 10x15 + 10x12 + 10x9 + 10x6 + 60x3 = 150+120+90+60+30+180=630 hearts for 100 neighbours.

What I don't understand: Why do we get fewer hearts the more friends we have? Shouldn't EA want to encourage us to have and visit as many friends as possible? So shouldn't it be the other way round and we should get fewer hearts for the first few friends and then more the more we visit?

Thank you! I agree, it is frustrating. Also, I hate when some friends have nothing to collect from because they haven't collected them themselves

I think it's 2 hearts per tap, i don't think it depends on the number of visits your friend does.

2 hearts per tap is what you get when friends visit your town. Original question was about hearts you get from tapping characters in other towns. These start at 5 per tap and reduce bit by bit to 1 per tap after 40 friends.
