STOP WITH THE KNIFE!!!!!!! There are so few problems that an internet search cant help. In order of attempted solutions, internet search should ALWAYS come before jimmying something open with a knife.
My xbox does the same thing. My heart skips a beat every time it doesn't open on its own (literally, not figuratively, I have heart palpitations when I hear that terrible sound). Just go straight to youtube and search xbox360 wont open and you will find some helpful videos. All you have to do is push the tray in and up a little bit when its trying to open, and it will open on its own. Once you see someone do it in the video it becomes very easy to perform.
