i clear my town every 4 hours, everything available, krusty land and any available neighbors. and this is bad for my neighbors? they're not getting stuff?
Ya...someone clear this up....because now after reading a few things today I'm getting a little confused over this.
From what I thought before...anything was available for your neighbours to tap on unless someone else visited your town and tapped on it before them..... which wasnt always the case...because I remember neighbours were able to tap on the same spot before.
The irony is that we tell new players that the way to succeed is to get 100 neighbors, and we point them to the "Add Me" thread. unfortunately most of the people they will be adding (from the add me thread) are ALSO new players. And what a new player needs most of all is cash, and sending characters on tasks generates money, but if all you have is ten characters, then rent from buildings means A LOT.
So now new players are visiting other new players like crazy, not finding anything to tap in one another's towns, AND they're not collecting rent!
Catch-22 indeed.

I just added a few extra brown and (i think) pink houses around my landing zone that i only collect when they have handshakes on them, that way I can collect the rest of my higher-earning buildings while still leaving my neighbors something to tap. So far it has worked out really well

I keep six brown houses (enough for two friends to visit) in a corner since Christmas. Sometimes I'm on a lot and so even my Simpson house and KEMs are tapped, so the browns are never tapped by me except to clear handshakes.
I don't have them in the landing zone because my LZ is full of futzy little details and it would be a huge pain to move stuff around. I think a permanent LZ marker (like the present depot at Christmas) really needs to come out. I'd move my graffiti buildings near each other and pop the marker down with them.
Now that handshakes are not regenerating, towns that are less active are a liability. Going back later means that my neighbors are out of time sequence. Obviates the convenience of the arrows. I had some neighbors hidden for Valentine's in the hope that things would return to normal afterward. I'm going to have to start deleting people.
Nice of them to make TO more difficult for newer players. Maybe they will get frustrated and quit before they are tempted to spend real money on such a buggy game. Mighty decent of you EA.
Looking for new neighbors. Just eliminated 80+ people after having been on hiatus from the game. Add me if you like. New designs aside from what I've posted so far.
Just scatter ten to twenty brown houses around town. And don't get a hundred neighbors until your town can handle it. I also keep the Simpson's house and QuickyMart open always.

As soon as I read your post I started TSTO and added you. Love your designs. They are such an inspiration. So naturally I jumped at the chance to have you as a neighbour.
