Please EA whatever patch you performed to correct the problem (as per your sticky at the top of this forum) either did not work properly, or has stopped working after an update.
Please, please, please try again to fix it, or give us some kind of update that you know there is a problem and you are working on it
This problem is horrible and anyone would access mine someday.
YOU MUST FIX THIS!! EA!!
I was playing Tapped Out last night on my Kindle Fire when my game froze while I was visiting people. I restarted my Kindle and loaded up the game again. I got the message 'Your Springfield has been signed into on another device' but thanks to these forums I knew to just hit 'Play Now' and 'Continue'.
On the loading screen it showed my Level as being 38, when it's only 16. I signed in just to double check, and I was in an unfamiliar town. I accidentally cleared a few handshakes while looking around, and I had to accept the money gift for visiting so many days in a row. But I exited the game without touching anything else, and loaded up the game again to thankfully find my own untouched town.
This really needs fixing!
Restarted and got my own town back. Whew.
Totally scary as I am level 38 been playing over a year and would be gutted if someone trashed my town.
My daughter's town was hacked. Buildings missing, depleted inventory, items moved around and donuts spent!!
We want our money back for the donuts!
My guess is that they haven't wanted to spend the money. This sort of thing doesn't seem to be rampant in other games.
Debugging software and/or upgrading equipment costs money. Much cheaper to wait for customers to jump through the support hoops and then restore the town to an earlier save. Even if they toss you a few extra donuts, those donuts don't cost them anything. Some customers will give up and quit the game. Others will just buy more donuts.
The vast majority of people playing this game have no idea that this is happening. Most who get benign invaders, never know it. So far, the potential repercussions have been manageable.
I can think of no other rationale for such a serious problem to have continued for so long.
Wouldn't it help if there was some "pinned" thread for this?
