That is really sad to hear. I'm not good at saying stuff to make things better in these situations, but what I can do is think up distractions.

Thank you so much peeps! I saught solace at the bottom of a botte or three of beer! At least it's stopped this infernal ache - ah the curses of paranoia! That vid and those pics were awesome though, thanks so much. He's due home soon, gonna try to show my measure of trust by not mentioning anything - meh, and let it fester and kill off the last 9 years! Yay! We'll see how that goes....! We're our own worst enemy at times. Trust is HARD! I wish I was back home brooding instead of stuck here! Thanks again for the birthday wishes, funny how a few (admitedly solicited) messages of goodwill can raise the spirits! Been a forum lurker for a while, your generosity has encouraged me to become a more active member! Thank you!!!

Happy birthday!!If I were you, I'd go out for a walk. You're in a foreign country so there are probably lots of places that you haven't visited yet. Visit one of them, take a coffee and something sweet to eat. But don't stay at home, it's the worst thing you can do.

Happy Birthday, the best advice I can give you, is to shake it off and make the best of the rest of the day. Make it special for yourself, give yourself a great memory to look back on. One thing I've learned in my long years, is that time heals all things, and when you look back you want more great memories and less smh at the ridiculousness of it all.

Have a great day today, and you can always deal with this tommorrow.

We haven't met, but my heart goes out to you. I've been there, so I understand how much it hurts. Finding those notes feel like a punch to the gut... It deflates you. But honey, someone who does that to you is not worth destroying your birthday, or your life. Go out. See a movie. Talk to friends. Just don't make your day, or your life, all about him.
