Because it's an utterly pointless thread. It serves no purpose whatsoever. If an update did come, I bet you 5 trillion of your non-dollars that an 'official' update thread will be off the 1st page within an hour, pushed by lots of useless threads like this.
I have made contributions to this forum on several occasions: some contributions provide some sort of informations some people want and some other contributions do other things entirely. This post, this thread, this contribution was intended for entertainment purposes and as best I can tell several people are finding some entertainment value. Talk to me when you have brought some value to the table.

I am intrigued by this proposal but I am hesitant to do anything weird my students (as I am a teacher) could find on the internet.

Are you new? An actual update thread will be up for at least a week on page one, and will hit at least 4 pages of responses. It actually decreases the amount of "useless" threads. There's more posts about the update than anything else. There will be FAQs, pictures, the quest line, questions about the quest line, are the new premiums worth it, etc. Front page will be littered with different threads about the update.
EA releases updates Wednesdays now. Plus EA released an update last Wednesday so I don't expect anything this week.
I don't know if that's really fair to say. The last content update (level 38) was released on a Thursday. Level 37 was released on a Friday and level 36 was also released on a Thursday. The last few "holiday updates" were released on various different days. In that same time period several episode tie-ins were released on Wednesday's, so it might be fair to assume the next episode tie-in would come on a Wednesday, but before that started episode updates were released on Tuesday's so obviously EA does what they want. They only thing I, or anyone, can confidently say is that EA doesn't like us to know what they are doing and, if that's the case, I think we have to assume they will try to surprise us.
Also, why would an update last week effect this week? There were updates three weeks in a row so there certainly isn't some sort of bi-weekly schedule.

Exactly they have their reasons. It won't matter when we get it because there's never gonna be an update that everyone likes and people just blame EA for stuff they don't like.
