EA's crappy maths is ruining this Event!! (rant)

Prev1345
I completely agree with you! What you said was clear without even the math behind it, but at least this will shut people up about not knowing for sure! All I keep thinking is has some lunatic taking over the studio with this update. I seriously hope they fix this soon because I can see even those **** kissers complaining before this events end...

Ea's bottom line is to make money.
So of course they are going to make the odds far out so that you need to buy donuts and put more money in their pockets.

If this becomes their method of business they won't last very long...

This. It'll be impossible to receive all the prizes this event. The numbers aren't even close. Forget about the big prizes, we'll barely have enough boxes to receive multiples of many of the decorations. This is horrible.

Even if EA had to price gouge us into buying donuts, at least let us have our decorations without the absurd prize boxes!

Do you really need to be reminded about how much people were whining about this at Christmas? And in the end most people got everything, at most missing one or two.

I agree after collecting a bunch of eggs today I only had enough for one spin from the blue box and I got... a fence. Even though we cant get every prize there is still one thing Ea can do. For major events like this they usually like to do a minor update near the end and with that update they can make all spins 250 eggs instead of 500. This way we will have more of a chance of getting the good stuff.

LMAO who got everything? Just because a tiny percent of players got everything don't mean everyone got everything.

Hell if people hadn't made a big deal about how unfair that wheel was half of the people who cleared the wheel would've been one or two good prizes short of having everything... So please do tell who is everyone?

They will last just fine. People whine on this forum no matter what EA does, so how will it make any difference? From what I can see, EA's only "mistake" is giving us as players TOO MANY available free prizes to get them all without spending donuts. This is quite possibly in response to the complaining during the Valentine's Day event about getting many multiples of the same items after the wheel was cleared, i.e. that there were TOO FEW prizes for the length of the event. Given the vast differences in how people play this game, there is no way to get it just right for everyone, is there?
    New neighbors always welcome!

I totally agree with all the negative feedback about the update... its horrible how EA is trying to make money out of everything during the last events...
I miss the "old" days with whacking day and treehouse of horror (they even gave us donuts back then)

EA won't be making many friends with this event, which is clearly forcing your hand at buying Donuts to get some limited time items. I'm sure I'll miss out on some things, and it'll stink, but there's no way I'm giving in. I'm not falling for it.

Also, 180 Donuts for Crazy Cat Lady? Lmfao. I love their pricing. Hahahaha.

    Agree with you 100%
    couldn't have said it better.

These chance based prizes are f***ing annoying and disturbing
Would rather much prefer personal prizes like past events as well as community prizes

If people didn't whine, we wouldn't even have received all the community prizes. You give EA too much credit. And this is a major event so we have to complain LOUDLY and early. Do you want a situation where in the beginning it is 500 eggs per box and in the end it is 50?

EA is a multi million if not multi billion dollar company. They will be fine. Trust me. They got so many other games they make lots of money on, not just this one.

Uh. What? Here are three threads I found in the first three search results with over 30 pages of people talking about clearing the wheel.
    http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/9874334.page
    http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/9861480.page

Daily players with close to 100 friends, which I imagine describes most people on this forum, were mostly done well ahead of time. That's assuming competence on their part though, which in this case I guess there's room for doubt. Define a "tiny percent" of players that managed to complete it.

Didn't rush so I started the event today. After visiting all my neighbors and tapping throughout the day I have 480 pink eggs and 52 blue eggs. (I was using basket exchange to have a shot at pink prizes). This is with a bump along the way of blue egg task rewards. So I will likely have one pink box at the end of the day...I really don't like my chances of getting much from this event. Really the only character I want is Shary but if I miss out on that one...anger.

    They're prizes, not gifts.

Do you go to carnivals and cry because you have to pay money for a chance to win an ugly stuffed toy? Do you expect to win the lottery if you never buy a ticket? So what makes you think you're entitled to be given every item at every event?

Even if everything was easy to win, you'd still be in here complaining that the event was boring, or that you have 12 Shary Bobbins clogging up your inventory.

Just think of all the gold box items as premium items that cost donuts and then you'll be thankful to even have an opportunity to get any of them without paying.

In every previous event a person could obtain every item if they played enough. It would be a major shift in the game if the player were forced to spend a bunch of money to finish an event. I'm not sure what about this concept is complicated. If you are so blinded by your love of EA and TSTO that you firmly believe they could never err or take a capitalist approach too far then congratulations on your warm, fuzzy, simple world view.

the idea and concept of update is good as well as prizes but why 3 seperate boxes w/ all sharing lamest prizes!? the egg point system and random winning is awful seems like EA clearly trying to make up $ from FG game and that is awful too. The constant crashes make it this update even worse

I don't know I think they will do something by the end of the event to give everyone who has missed things a chance to get them. People said the same at Christmas and they changed the odds for them at the end of the event. It's just day 2 give it some time. EA seems to always listen to people complaints, look how they ruined/changed Whacking day.
