This one small change would have saved the Easter event

Hear, hear well said.

Numbers are just way to high in this event even for a twice a day player like myself.

I must agree with what you said. I've suggested this early on in the event for them to change the amount of eggs needed to open boxes too. The whole 80+ boxes for a garenteed win was just way too high. Only people who've spent hundreds of donuts could reach that number, and at the end of the day those prizes would end up being premiums disguised as potentially free items. I get that they needed to make money but creating a scam like this was really low, even for EA.

Or, as I've been saying for weeks, they could have let us earn more eggs.

Declining returns on visits is a major offender. 100 friends yielding 15 eggs each when visited would have been 1500 eggs per day, which would mean 3 boxes minimum per day. A guarantee number of 81 divided by three boxes per day is 27 days, or very approximately the length of the event. So everyone could have been guaranteed at least their common color prizes by the end.
On top of that, raise the odds on baskets just a little, with the important factor that only uncommon baskets should drop, and only common baskets would show up as trappable in neighbor's towns so no one is losing their precious uncommon eggs. One or two uncommon baskets dropping per day, plus easier trading, then uncommon prizes could also be virtually guaranteed by the end of the event if you play daily.
Finally, since the Faberg? egg wasn't available until the quest line was done, it should have been a gold egg generator. Say one spin a day once you find it or buy it. Not enough to reach the 81 boxes, but enough to give everyone a reasonable shot at a couple more desirable prizes. And instead of filling prize slots with common color eggs or baskets, replace them with gold eggs or remove them entirely.

It's far too late, now, but this could have been a fun event designed to last exactly one month and give everyone their effort's worth.

What's funny - and by that I mean not funny at all - is that somebody making the game realized getting crap random items sucks. Instead of fixing it, they basically gave us a quest that, when we finish it, tells us that we suck.

Well, EA. You keep your donuts, I'll keep my cash.

I personally have been playing religiously on this holiday from day 1, and am not only disappointed with the low drop rates.... I am flat out PISSED. I checked my eggs at least 4-5 times a day and visited every friend every day. I have also blown 100 donuts on golden eggs(which yielded me 250 pink eggs 3 times, screw you for even putting that as a chance). Still no Sherry Bobbins, egg council guy, or hugs. I have been playing since about a month into this game being released and this is by far the biggest insult and giant "F YOU" to people that are proud when they worked hard enough to get all holiday items.

I don't know how much time and thought they put into this holiday, but it seems they didn't care and have FORCED people to spend money and buy donuts so they can get the items that some people were just "
    lucky" enough to stumble upon.

This person gets it. I wish you were in a position of influence at EA.

There is still going to be people that don't want to wait and will spend donuts to get instant gratification, so it isn't necessary to set the odds so slim for a chance to complete the event as a freemium player.

I generally enjoyed the Easter event and don't have a huge problem with the chance or box system. However, IMO the single change that would have improved it is this: The Kang and Kodos topiaries were gold box prizes, but also available for purchase at 15 donuts each. EA should have done the same thing with the other prizes, with Shari Bobbins as the most expensive prize but available for a fixed, known in advance donut cost for those who chose to use donuts to get her instead of waiting for a small chance at getting her for free.
    New neighbors always welcome!

Monday to Friday I tap at 7.30am, putting them on 8hr while at work, then 4pm to 11pm I'm tapping every hour. I visit my neighbours at 7.30pm religiously.
And the numbers were still far too high for me. I'm a completionist too so I ended up spending donuts since the gold eggs became available to buy.
The odds and numbers should have been more level with each other, and it would have been a lovely, stress free event. IMO anyway.

Maybe they got some other plan, like buy what u didn't get 190 donuts per character and house. Cause after u've already spent donuts trying to get something and didn't get it then u'll be more likely to pay to get that thing. So they earn more money per item that way.

Not a good strategy in the long term EA.

Yeah i don't understand the deal about this whole chance thing... why can't we have events like before where we'd get items if we worked hard. stressing players probably won't get them anywhere. I noticed a lot of the people on my friend's list who used to play enthusiastically and have really nice towns haven't checked the game for weeks now. I used to play my game religiously to get items on events. but now i'm missing quite a few items and i don't even care.

This might be what they are thinking of doing, but i doubt they will bring these characters and building back out for a while tho, they might even wait till next year to do the re-release :( That being sad i do hope they bring these buildings/characters out for people who were unlucky enough not to win anything :(

I didn't mind having Gold eggs harder to get but the prizes didn't accurately reflect the effort. The pastel fences and gate shouldn't have been there at all. All prizes should at least have had a multiplier, if it wasn't a building or character.

I also think that they only needed to adjust the figures slightly. We'd have all had more chances if it cost 400 eggs to open a box instead of 500 for example, or the minimum boxes were 80 - 100 across all colours, not each colour or 50-60 per colour. Even shifting the odds of the rare stuff by .05% would have helped.
