CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENT: The TSTO forums will be closed on December 13th, 2023. Read more about the future of the forums here.

Quitting TSTO.

Prev1
The Easter Event is methadone for Tapped Out fans.

I think this event took advantage of players who they know are hoarders and made this an event for accountants at EA instead.

Games are supposed to be fun, challenging, but players who have experienced this event have mostly said the same: they feel like they're being played.

We will miss you and all the others driven away by this sudden shift in the core of this game's design. EA apparently assigned the programming team from EAs "World Series of Poker" to this game without telling them it wasn't a gambling game, but rather a creative game of personal and group achievements.

Hope there's something you find that returns you to a happy place. :)

Just wait to see if the next event is going to be better. Surely EA must've heard all the outcry from us

I don't blame you pal. I am probably not gonna play and check the forums to see if any episode tie ins occur so I can collect those when I do return. If you don't return look on the bright side. You played the game during its peak. There is only D rated characters left, the prices of premium characters will only go up, and that's about it. I personally look forward to coming back to the game after a significant time so I can level up multiple levels instead of waiting months for a level. Good luck in your future endeavors.

EA has been pretty outrageous with the donut pricing on some premium characters but they've set the bar to unimaginable heights by essentially pricing Sharry Bobbins at about 450 donuts or $30+. Even if you're rich I think many would hesitate to spend that much for a collection of pixels.

How about instead of quitting go freemium, I wouldn't want to quit as I still enjoy the game, despite this event, so going freemium was a good alternative.

I don't get it, I have all the items for over a week now, Sherry Bobbins being the last. I really do not understand what the problem is, do the quests visit neighbors, spin the basket. I have about 50 neighbors and don't even visit every day.

BUT I am PISSED that EA wont release new land with all the stuff that is being released, I think that fact alone drives more people away than some stupid I cant win at a random number wheel

I have 99 friends and have been busting my tail every day. I agree, this event is impossible. I have gotten very far in this game without ever buying donuts, and I've completed every event naturally. Today, for the first time, I bought dounts because I still have yet to get the blocko store, which is the item I want the most. Spent 50 donuts for 9 pink baskets, and still nothing. Got a ton of gold eggs though, and guess what? Pastel fences! Yay! EA- what is your problem. How do you think is event is even close to being fair?

I'm with you on many levels of this post. All I want is the Blocko Store, and my last 10 boxes have been my worst ones of the event so far. I don't know how anybody could still be saying that this event was good. I feel like Premium players especially got the shaft on this one. I know that I am definitely less likely to spend donuts in the future now...up until this point, I spent donuts on all limited items and stuff, but now that I will be missing a bunch of stuff from the Easter event, it's like what's the point? I hope EA feels some backlash from this event and doesn't do any more of these chance based events in the future..

I'm not quitting but, going forward I am going to relax the amount of time I spend playing AND I will be playing as a freemium member. It's going to take something special from EA to wooo me back over to the dark side.

Yes EA, that's a challenge. Are you up for it? And whilst you're standing there with your knees trembling, just remember that WE the players, are the ones who pay for your swanky cars, your weekend vacations in posh hotels, put your kids through college and pay for that pool guy your wife keeps eying off. Without the paying customers, no matter what the game, you dont have much of a business.

I think it could be that they technically can't release more land. Maybe something was hardcoded into the game that specified only so much usable land.

So EA have driven away many of it's customers already. But for those that remain, I wonder how many of them are addicted gamblers? They're probably not as vocal as us, but if their gambling mindset kicks in, they could probably drive up profit even higher, considering how much the racetracks and casinos are earning.

And despite all testimony to the contrary, you think your experience is typical. Arrogant, irritating attitude for you to take, to say the least. I'm not even allowed to express the levels of irritation this sort of statement provokes.

    I do the tasks.
I visit my neighbors (more of them and more often than you)
I spin the meager boxes I can afford.
I certainly do not have all items, or even close. I'm missing half the major prizes.

    So. Yeah. Shut up.

I have done the tasks on a continuous loop.
I have visited all 100 neighbours every day
I do not have all the prizes

Sorry thought you said you've got 99 problems but a fence ain't one.

You experience is not the norm, judging by this forum. I have double the amount of friends as you (I visit ALL of them everyday) and I have literally checked my game every few hours since this event started. I even bought the Crazy Cat Lady, who has an egg-yielding task (70 eggs/per 24 hours). Homer, Moe, Ned, Ralph, and Nelson haven't stopped doing their egg tasks since the beginning of the event. On top of that, I spent 200 donuts on blue (my uncommon color) and gold eggs. I still have not finished this event. I need 3 characters. I think that my $ and commitment/time put into this event should have allowed me to obtain these things.

I've seen a few freemium players who have completed this event (it's still really rare), but I also know of a bunch of people on this forum who have spent a lot more donuts than myself and have come up with nothing to show for it. All my donuts got me was Bunny #24601 and a bunch of fences, egg piles, etc. Everything else was obtained playing freemium. This event is seriously rigged, but especially against premium players. Again, your experience is the exception, not the rule. Read all the complaints on the forum for proof. Actually read the stories of how much work and money people invested, don't just disregard them as whiners. There are a lot of really valid points.

Exactly what I'm going to do. As I've missed out on some of the prizes the need to have everything available has gone. More money for beer. Mmmmmm.....beer.

This stupid event annoys me so much and so does EA. another player thinking of quitting cos of this crappy event. this whole thing has been designed to grab as much money from us and make it as hard as possible.

They charge for baskets so helping each other out costs money, they set character tasks at silly time slots so most people only have time to do it once a day, it wouldn't even surprise me if they'd planned the whole basket glitch thing, seriously. And that's on top of them making it chance based anyway.

And the person who said "I play every day and I have everything bla bla" you are literally one in a million because there are so many people on here who have spent a ton of money on this thing (luckily not myself) and still don't have everything. Not even everything, some don't even have a single character! So don't say it like you think that's normal and we're all freaks.

    Aghhh roll on tomorrow
