I reckon I've spent about £1000 in 2 and a half years, I'm definently ashamed but the thing is I think I'll keep spending money on it, what a waste!
Not a waste. You got great premium items for your town in a game you obviously enjoy playing and in return EA was able to use that money to pay developers to create these new updates for the game. I say thank you sir!!
Don't listen to the jelly poors who always make threads thinking people hack and waste donuts because they can't afford to enjoy the game in a way that's above their pay grade.
I'm in the less then a dollar a day group. I started the week the Springfield Falls came out during whacking day. I've bought around $300 worth in the year. As my husband pointed out, less than I spend on coffees. I'm hoping for a Gil sale soon. I'll probably purchase another boatload. As for what will I have when it ends, good memories. I think it is well worth the cost.
I have spent thousands of dollars on video games over the years, so spending some on this one is irrelevant in the scheme of things, though so far I have probably spent under $100.00, and I say it's a fair bet I will spend some more.
Well there was the money my wife and I spent on each other to get tablets so we could enjoy the game (too many crashes on our old phone devices; like every 5-10 mins!) I don't remember but I'll say $700 there total.
We both have been playing freemium from the start; 6 months.
Then she got me some donuts as a gift. $30 I think.
So now I'm premium-gifted!
Money well spent for us.
$2.00 per day for each of us so far.
We both have been playing freemium from the start; 6 months.
Good for u. I can't resist the temptation ... So after playing freemium for 3 months, I bought my first boatload.
Yeah I'm kind of gung-ho to "invest" in an online game I barely know if it will surpass level 21 (back then max level 20). Little did I know that I'm still playing this game for the next 2 years & counting...
The closest game which I equally addicted in the good o' PC era was The Sims (1st ed). I bought up all the subsequent add-on, include Livin' Large, Unleased, House Party, Vacation, Hot Date, Superstar, Makin' Magic, etc... Until The Sims 2 was out and I stopped playing b'cos I don't like it, and there was no more update for the Sims.
My best guess is around $250 since I started playing in March 2013. I don't regret one cent, as I have budgeted well for what I have spent and had hours and hours of fun playing the game and continue to do so. I used to routinely spend $60 a pop on Xbox games - interestingly, since I've started playing Tapped Out my Xbox has essentially gone unused.

Me too with the Sims!
I've spent way more money on GH/BH than on any other game. And well worth it even now that the servers are no longer up. I can still play them.
Probably $250-300+. Think premium items are overpriced, so I space it out. Do not regret it much as I enjoy the game, but wish those things you pay for got continued things to do more.
Maybe $100-300. I mostly was using the donuts to speed up a task, for example, if Homer was drinking at Moe's but I had a task requiring him to spend the night in jail then I'd speed up the drinking. Or I would speed up the amt of time for a bldg to go up. That didn't take much money. I think I bought one scratcher at Quik E Mart.
Then I began buying bldgs that had characters attached like Stu's Disco (I love Disco music) and the DMV. Bought stand alone characters like Jimbo and used donuts to get me cash to buy bldgs like Vulgari's. That added up. I quit now b/c I was overdrawn at the bank
I've spent $0 on this game, but that's only so I can spend $30-50/week on good craft beer. We all spend money on what we like- don't be ashamed of it if it's a fun hobby of yours. Some people spend their money on cable tv, some at the bars, some at the movies, some at the stripclubs. As long as you can afford it without putting yourself into debt, or not having enough for bills- do what you want and don't worry about it!
About $500 since February 2014, when I started. Bear in mind a lot of that was Amazon coins/cards and Viggle Points, but I do have some expendable cash from stocks that I play with.

I've spent $20 during Halloween, received another $20 Google card for my birthday, and maybe gave in to five premium scratchers since I started playing during Whacking Day last year. If I have the extra to spend, I don't mind giving in to a game, but I feel like it's gotta be worth it since I'm tapping into my nail polish budget. :P
I've lost count on how much I have spent on this game.
Thankfully I won 300 donuts 1 week ago. So I did not have to buy new donuts :P
Though I dont have any left, I bought that alien + that new premium character that came with level 42

In May 2014, I bought a boatload of donuts for $100 and two golden scratch offs...so $104 plus 8.25% Texas sales tax
have 1031 donuts left, and planning to buy more stuff
if there is another Gil sale soon...will buy another boatload
