I have cleared all my land, and found donuts on multiple occasions.

I like the white barrels... I kept about 20-30 to decorate my power plant.

Too bad we can't. The developers probably never considered people using it for decorations.

I've kept some debris to use for messaging such as "on vacation" or at end of events "still need.."

I've kept quite a bit, most I used to make a toxic waste dump area and the some for Nelson's yard.

I have kept garbage in three places: nuclear waste and barrels around the power plant, and empty kegs/bottles around Duff Brewery and Cletus' farm. I've also hidden 15-20 pieces of garbage behind other buildings in my town, mainly due to the fact that once they are cleaned up, they're gone forever - so why not just hide them if possible in case a use can be found for them later on.

Homer and Lisa both have a task to clean up Springfield. If there is debris to clear it will appear at the top of their lists. :-)
