I haven't got the updates yet, but I know I won't be able to resist buying the mansion.

Completely logged out of my game and logged back on. Still no Gil. I wouldn't buy it anyway so I guess it doesn't matter.

Ah but you're also missing out on the ability to accidentally nuke your Springfield and put absolutely everything into storage...

Nope. Iv got the nuke option, but no sign of gil.

Ive almost finished the watch itchy and scratchy task, maybe he'll pop up after that.

I'm getting it. In a heartbeat. I want it enough to give up McDonalds a few times and have Kraft Macaroni and "Cheese" instead. It's not as if my refusal to buy it is going to cause EA to go through an epiphany. To them, we're gnats. I ain't seen Barney's Bowlarama drop in price.

A few weeks ago, when Lampwick was released, there were DOZENS of posts of outrage that EA would release him without the Solid Gold Mansion. (Do a forum "search") Well, we got what we deserved. We "demand" and they "supply". Big business at its best.

Personally i think this was all a big plan from the start, nothing to do with the forum asking/demanding it, just have a feeling about this one ;)

Knew they'd pull something like this! It's pure horse*. Seriously, F that. I am not paying 250 D for one building that should have just come with Chester in the first place.

Got the update, but no new content available to buy.

Perhaps you need Lampwick already for golden house to appear? Anyone w/o Lampwick see it?

Personally, cannot justify 250 donuts for it, espesh as it appears to give little in return.

    Anything else in this update?

If I had 250 donuts I wouldn't waste them on this. Im not going to spend that kind of money on a building. Even if it came with a character, I would have to think hard and would probably go with Barneys Bowlarama instead.

No wonder Gil is always down on his luck, with "offers" like these :p

People wanted this Mansion, and they delivered. Just not the price that anyone expected :P

This event brought plenty of free stuff and even extra donuts for us, I don't think we have the right to complain about this.

Perhaps the TSTO team thought the new building really was 'solid gold' so us players would value it accordingly! I actually think it an insult tbh. However, they wouldn't do it unless they had predicted enough people would buy it.

I have to keep reminding myself that being a dedicated player of this game is not 'a right' and that EA have to make money. Feel somewhat let down by this though. JMHO though.

As it happens, outside of fanatical 'completionists' this is such a crap deal, so much real $$$ for a characterless building with little in rewards, will not mind passing on this 'deal'.

I understand the jist of what you're saying, but we have every right to complain (well at least those of us who spend real money on this).

In my local currency I could get a 2nd-hand/pre-owned EA console game for that money. Taking the p*ss as we say in UK. grr.

I think it was premeditated as well. It was such a glaring error to include the rocket car but not his house that it had to have been intentional. The solid gold house is iconic for that episode.

Now I just wish that silly sap Gil would show up in my town!
