What IS an issue is that on an android tablet, it is way to easy to hit the back, home, or recent app list buttons on the bottom of the screen. These all stop the game and you have to wait to reload.
FGTQFS does not have to completely reload, the game simply resumes immediately if you accidentally close it. One of the few things they do better.
All my designs look unfinished because i can't place as many plants, streetlights, and fences as i would like. PLEASE REMOVE THE LIMIT, EA!

Yep, same problem for me. And taking a pic, I have to hold down the power button and home button at the same time.

Have you tried button combo power+ volume down? This works on my Nex7 and if not done "right" it just lowers the volume a little. Game stays open.

That definitely works on my nexus, but not on my galaxy. The galaxy is home+power. Nexus is much safer for taking screenshots.

Tried it. Does not work. Thanks for mentioning it though.
I have a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet.

My TSTO does that actually sometimes, it loads straight back into the game and I don't see the splashscreen. I hadn't realised that wasn't a thing...

On my Asus memo pad, I just have to hold down recent apps, which is quite handy, because if I accidentally click there, I can just hold it instead and stay on the game.
Wow didn't realise this simple topic would generate this level of interest, thnx for the feedback everyone, my other problem is that my wife and kids also play and we have to share the tablet and sometimes you log out and instantly realise you forgot to do your friend visits or something. Happy tapping everyone. 8)
on the kindle the only log out I see is on the splash screen, there isn't one on the friends screen. It's nearly impossible to accidentally tap the log out on Kindle.

OOPS, I logged off...I guess I have to log back in...oh well...no harm done...
I see two logout buttons in my game.
- On the splash screen on the bottom left.
- At the bottom right of the friends screen.
Are you talking about the first? Do you hold the phone in your left hand and have your thumb hitting it?
I've had similar things happen in apps I run on my phone. But I play TSTO on a tablet and it is not an issue for me.

but if i had.. i would just logged back in (doesn't sound that hard).
[edit: typo]
Agreed
For OP, it isn't hard to just log back in again.
