Unless you can't do that, in which case I'd have to say... I can't decide. I LOVE the Eye, but #51 is so much fun. I had finally realized that I would regret not having either of them after the event ends.
I love both but really really love the pyramid. It's very subjective though, as Number 51 has two great outdoor tasks including being one of four that can sing at the table.
I bought both. It's great to see #51 at the table and his phone home quest. With the seeing eye, I was thinking it would still be nice to have after the event.
I would try to get them both. Both of them are really awesome and they won't be around after the update more than likely. Since this is a "special event" and not a holiday event I wouldn't expect them to come back for sale at all. While both of them are really awesome, I REALLY like #51 as I am a character person myself and the more I have the merrier. However the all-seeing eye is an AMAZING decoration and looks really good in a town. It's not too big, not too small, and can fit in with several other buildings and areas in Springfield.
In all honesty they are WELL WORTH the cost of a few dollars it would be for you to get them. When I first started I thought I was going to be a freemium player only, but now I own EVERY premium building/character minus like 5 that I missed out on due to my town getting "visited" by another person and having to have my town reset by EA (which took about a month).
I'd say both, but if you must choose then pyramid. It's much more noticeable since it's a great animated building, whereas the alien (like all characters) gets lost in big towns unless you keep him at the table all day long.
I have both and I generally favour buying characters, but the Eye is awesome. It's fun to decorate. I only really notice #51 when I have everyone feasting, and that rarely seems to happen.

This is pretty much what I do. They're all at the table as much as I can manage.
Thanks for all your input but ive chosen #51 for two reasons, space (im running out), and I remember him from the show I dont believe the all seeing eye was on the show the table thing is awesome and im super happy to see it but ultimately not really a factor

If I had to pick between the two, I go with the alien every time
And once you flip the coin, and you see that decision, see how you feel, and then make your decision. Old trick.
