Give me 100 donuts over $10k any day of the year... hell, I'd happily forego a chance to win 100k if EA felt better about it :P I have won as much as $2500 before and that was recently.

Funny to think that when I first started I thought that the jackpot of $10k would change my SF life :? that wouldn't even touch sides any more. Most donuts won was either 12 or 24 but on a recent purchase, winning 12, my account was only credited with 6 of them. I immediately shut the app down to complain to EA but decided to log back in and allocate the rest of my characters their tasks first (no point in falling off the weekend schedule, right? ). To my surprise, and confusion, I landed on the screen for the Golden Scratch-r. I scratched it and won 12 donuts, before I could see them allocated the screen glitched and I had a fresh scratch-r to use which I won 6 donuts on. Everything was back to normal after that and I had the full amount from all 3 winnings in my donut balance. :D

Common sense dictated that I spend them all before EA realised the error and took them away
It's funny when you're first starting out and desperately need that in-game cash. Since I started mid October, I was caught up in the hubbub of playing catch-up during Halloween, which I was too silly to realize was a limited time, seasonal event. Oh, to be so na?ve again. Simpler times. Suffice to say, I focused primarily on housefarming, and missed out on a bunch of nifty, spooky goodies. Congratulations on some glitchy good luck, on your part. Since it wasn't your fault, I can't say I'd fault you for spending them. Not sure how you'd go about even attempting to rectify such a thing even if you wanted to. In my mind, you contact EA, and patiently explain to them they gave you extra donuts. EA says, "Oh, I see, let me just correct that for you". The erroneous donuts vanish from your account. EA walks away, quietly saying "Sucker" under their breath, possibly while twirling a Snidely Whiplash-style mustache.

That was some brilliant colour, you must be a writer ;) I didn't feel too guilty though because I almost always re-invest 'won' donuts into mystery boxes which (as we all know) can be really rewarding but has more chance of introducing an exchange rate of 6 donuts for 5 brown fences :P

Why thank you, that's quite kind of you to say. I'm not a writer (even though I would love to be, I have the imagination for it but feel lacking in linguistic skills) and in my profile I half-jokingly refer to myself as a bum. I'm just an unemployed individual with WAAAY too much time on my hands. The only time I've ever had any luck whatsoever with the mystery boxes is when I went a bit bananas trying to get the lemon tree. That is probably the single most expensive decoration in my Springfield, and this is coming from someone who bought the Springfield sign at full price, and yes, I do indeed have a whale. That fabulous exchange rate you mentioned is pretty much why I don't buy mystery boxes, Homer Buddhas, or golden Srcatch-Rs anymore. Heck, I don't even usually race at the dog track anymore. I view it as waiting for them to make The World's Largest Toilet as an inspirational, and then flushing my cash (in-game OR real-world) straight down the hole.

Aha! Someone who's been playing as long as I have who has won the biggie? Seems convenient. Almost too convenient. Perchance I have met my arch nemesis? No, in all reality congratulations on your win, and it's comforting to know that someone who's been playing just as long as myself, has indeed gotten paid!

I think I've won the $10,000 2 or 3 times in 7 months. I've read the odds are 1/100 (tappedout wikia). You always win something, and it's part of the game, so I keep playing it.

Better luck to you in the future. :)

When I first started playing, I would win the jackpot about once every week or two. Then, once the golden scratchers became available to me, it all ground to a halt. I think I've won it maybe once or twice since then. I suppose that works out just fine since the money really only helped out at the beginning.

Why thank you, Neglecterino, and I know that if anyone would know the odds, it would be you. If I could put as much thought and skill into MY town as you do yours, I'm pretty sure I would have gotten anything I've missed out on up to this point. If only I weren't so darn technologically impaired. C'est la vie.

I've been playing since the game was released and remember when they introduced the scratch-r. I tap it daily just to get the stupid head to disappear. I've hit jackpot at least five or six times, but maybe more. I'll buy a couple golden scratch-r's a month and have hit the 100 donut jackpot once. (And by coincidence I asked my husband who was standing next to me to "scratch" it and his luck got me the 100!) I miss the glitch where you'd buy a golden but it would keep reloading the scratch-r and you'd get three for the price of one!

Just keep scratching and you'll hit jackpot sooner or later!

Wow! To teenwolf7, HappyGamer73, yukongirl123, and plainsarajane, congratulations on wins all around! I keep thinking either just about everyone else has more luck than me, or maybe I need to find some technique to scratching. I mean, $10,000 in-game is a drop in the bucket, since I'm currently saving up for Sit-N-Rotate, but now it's more of the principal of the win. I'm going for the moral victory! 8)

If you play enough scratchers you will get it, and be summarily disappointed. 10k isnt much (o and minus the 250) and the chance of getting it is rare. It does seem random though which I cant say about the other lottery things (balloon pop and dog race)

Im pretty sure theyve changed the dog race several times. First to make it a break even gamble (initial dog races paid out terrible winning compared to the listed odds) and I have lucky streaks that seemed too awesome to be coincidence 4 wins in a row. 40k, 40k, 200k, 200k, and about a month either side of that streak i had really good luck.

I saw someone post about the balloon pop shelling out 5 donuts every x number of visits. Seems accurate as Ive won those about 4 or 5 times and it is like every 3 months for me. Too regular.

Been playing since November and have won at least 3 times. Last time was 2 weeks ago.

My Hubby on the other hand has been playing since Christmas and has won 4 times.

I've managed to win the jackpots on the tickets and the dog races quite a few times, but I do play them as often as possible. Best of luck OP. You'll get there eventually!

I buy a golden scratchie every day and that's how I collect donuts, lately I've been winning 12d a lot, sometimes more, sometimes less (won 100d the other day). I figure £7 a week doesn't break the bank and I can buy premium stuffs when they come out.
    Playing since Aug 2011

When my game has stopped crashing long enough to do my basic tasks (grind KL tickets and SP tiles, cash in my reinstated housefarm, visit my neighboreenos) I'm still gonna be chasing the $10,000. Due to several posts, I've also started playing the doggies again (Come on, Drool Britannia!), but I'm still going to stay away from the Golden Scratch-Rs. My logic being, if I can't even win the 10 grand, why would I be able to win donuts? Mmmmmmm...premium currency. :-)

I've seen a couple of threads recently pertaining to players winning on the Golden Scratch-R (I've only ever bought 2 of those, and won a whopping 12 donuts, sarcastic "yay" not included), but I want to ask the forum about the regular, old, boring 250 in-game dollar Scratch-R. I know I'm a relative newbie to the game (started in mid-October of last year) and even newer to the forum. But damn it, I've only missed ONE day in the game (ONE freakin' day!) and I've never gotten the jackpot. EVER! Matter of fact, whenever I get an axe on a Scratch-R, it always pays out $350. I play them incessantly (even $100 is found money) and I know EA doesn't care about me anymore than anyone else who pays their bills (since I've spent a LOT of money on this game), but am I missing something? Is there a technique I don't know about? I'm really hacked off about this! Please let me know, dear forumreenos, if any of you out there have never gotten those three sneaky axes. TL;DR I'm mad because I've NEVER won $10,000 on a Scratch-R. Please tell me I'm not alone.
You're the only one in the whole wide world with that problem, congratulations.
