Just when you thought easter had given you a way out.. they pull you back in! What a great month! What a great event! I got a fair bit of stuff from the guide this update, to make up for the nothing we got last month. So grab a nice cold ice-cap on this lovely Canada Day evening, while the fireworks light off outside my window, as I take you through the month of Stonecutters for the Springfield Guide.
--
Ever since EA gave us a hint of something to do with Stonecutters last New Years, I've been consciously keeping an eye on the guide, where the Stonecutter's lodge resides, which is located right below Fat Tony's compound. First of all, I am strongly adamant about my compound being against a shoreline, even if the shore is along the guide's tiny river, as it was a beachfront property in the episode where Fat Tony marries Selma. I'm fine with putting the lodge next to compound instead of under it, but I still had to make sure there was enough room.
Then 2 months ago I had to create the Springfield Towne Glenne, where all the ritzy shops go, and there was really no better place for that, then all the remaining room I had next to the East of Fat Tony. My reasons were explained already, but going in to this event, I had to think of a way to add the lodge between them, and then make it accessible. I had to really sacrifice some room around Fat Tony's compound to make the lodge fit, and that was the easy part. It seemed like the compound was wasting a lot of space anyways.
But there was still no way I could connect the lodge to a road, unless I sacrificed My whole Towne Glenne on the old Promenade theory. Placing the lodge where it is supposed to go on the guide was my first and if necessary, my only priority. But then where else would I move all these snobby high-end stores to? And then I decided to think outside the box a little.
There is a clip from the the Season 23 episode The Do'hcial Network, which I've been using in these updates to show the Banana Dictatorship in the Towne Glenne. In the background you will see a domed building. The Simpsons enter the scene from that building, which was where they had parked the car. The familiar domed look of that building, plus the location on the guide made this a no-brainer.
This Is my updated Towne Glenne: Stonecutters Edition. Not only is the Stonecutters Lodge exactly where it is meant to been on my land expansion graph over the guide, but it has also been perfectly repurposed. Its been a long time between Season 6 and Season 23. The much-newer Towne Glenne could have easily been built on the Stonecutters foundation, since the place had been mostly deserted, after Homer gave it up the civil war reinacting howler monkeys. In fact, its easy to justify that the Towne Glenne was created and owned by the power and influence of the elitist Stonecutters organization. The Towne Glenne itself is meant to be elitist. Even Stonecutter member #12 aka. Lenny lives in one of the Towne Glenne lofts.
I couldn't ask for a better way to start off the event. It didn't just improve on my Towne Glenne idea. It saved it. You can see how bad it was looking beforehand. And now with all the Stonecutter fences, I can use the same beige colour, that the Town Glenne Mostly consists of, instead of those ridiculous white easter fences. I've got the parking lot in the back, and I've got the Stonecutter's daycare centre to the side. I didn't know what the heck I would have done with this daycare centre at first, but for wealthy shoppers who don't want to drag their bratty, silver spoon-fed kids around, why wouldn't the the Towne Glenne have a daycare?
Is this too convenient of a way to repurpose this entire area? I don't care. To me, Its perfect. Greatest. Event items. ever.
--
Of course, now that this Towne Glenne area does not need the hundred or so pieces of Easter fences, I had a challenging month, trying to stick them in all sorts of new places, that I wouldn't normally think they would go. So here are a bunch of before and afters. (See if you can spot the difference. Hint: Its the fences.)
In some places, these Easter fences actually managed to be a big help. In other places... Well, we'll see.

I mentioned last month that I am expecting a Gil sale, ideally to take 25% off of the price of donuts, like we did last year around this time. Still no sign of that, which is unfortunate. As I often say, I only buy donuts from Gil. and until we get another opportunity, I can only spend donuts on limited time items. Even then, I have to be choosy.
For 30 donuts though, I felt the Abandoned Store was worth it, even though it is not found on the guide. Still though, I was confident I could find a place for it somewhere. There isn't much to go on based on its appearance from the show besides the fact that it is next to a green building, and across the street from a barber shop. There are a couple barber shops listed on the Springfield guide, but mostly in very cluttered areas of my town. I have a feeling the Abandoned Store will be floating around for a bit, until I can find a good spot for it.
Beyond that, I did not buy any other premium Stonecutter stuff. The all-seeing eye pyramids, weren't worth 10 donuts to me, yet alone 100. They'd look incredibly tacky, for what I'm trying to achieve. The Frink and Hibbert robes weren't worth it. We have plenty of those robes as is. I thought about the Martian, but really... Kang and Kodos are all the martians I need. They are established characters, as opposed to a line gag from the Stonecutters song. Besides... I don't need this premium alien to make the song work. Look who keeps martians under wraps:
That's right. I do... I do.
--
There were a few more items I won from collecting emblems. I'll run through those real quick.
I added the stonecutters table, the sacred parchment, and the arc of the stone covenant, on a rooftop of one the 3D perspective buildings I added to the Towne Glenne. It generally looks like that infamous scene from the episode... just without a roof.
The Stone of Triumph, I left in an open area between my lemon tree and observatory. It seemed like a good way to tie the empty space together. In the show, Homer has to drag the Stone of Triumph up to Mount Springfield, which is also the Springfield sign. I figure anywhere between the Stonecutters lodge and Mount Springfield is a good place to drop this rock.
I'm not sure where the money pool is from, but it sounds like something Burns would have in his secret place. So I spruced up the back of his mansion a bit, and crammed it in. I also decided to include the lady justice statue, which was hiding behind my courthouse for no particular reason. It reminds me of the statue holding the trillion dollar bill, that Homer and Burns fled to Cuba with.
And that concludes my Stonecutters event.
--
Level 42 dropped very unexpectedly. Everybody was enjoying the Stonecutters so much, that nobody was getting antsy for it. Nobody was leaking info or posting spoiler images 2 hours before hand, which is the first time that has ever happened, for as long as I can remember.
With it, we got two new buildings that are found on the guide right next each other: Itchy and Scratchy International, which you could buy for a whopping 600,000 grand, and KBBL Radio from the latest Frink Points level.
Even with the large amount of space wide open, this took quite lot of cramming. I&S International is a huge, awkward building. Most of the stuff you see here, fits almost barely. Still though, I like it. It looks like a very busy entertainment district. The two factories next to each other look really nice. KBBL looks nice as a north facing building. I had to have Channel 6 and the film set switch places, in order to make it work. I think it works well though, because the film set is now where the fireworks testing range is on the guide. Boom. The film set just got repurposed.
--
When Gil came by at the end of the month, I was shocked and appalled that he was not carrying a donut sale with him. Instead he came with something that should not really even be considered a sale at all. Chester Lampwicks gold house for 250 donuts. Yikes.
Still though... I had to buy it.
Fellow moderator Deadshot and I had an interesting conversation about this house before it actually arrived. Deadshot didn't believe in repurposing Chester's gold house in to Kent Brockman's gold house when he won the lottery, because he believes we should have both houses. I thought sure, thats a nice idea, but realistically I'm not holding my breath for a second gold mansion any time soon. Somehow I think EA got wind of this conversation, and made it into the opening dialogue between Homer and Lisa, for this limited time offer.
But regardless of whether you think this house can be repurposed as Kent's House or not, apparently its irrelevant, for as you see in the picture above on the left, thats Kent walking his dog past Chester's house. He definitely lives close by, but that blue house next door, could even be his without the gold from his lottery win. So as far as I'm concerned, the gold mansion belongs right where it is, next to the Springfield sign. with a lawn chair for Chester (or Kent) to sit in, and a driveway for the rocket car, when I can afford it.
Speaking of which, this house cut me down to just 80 donuts. That is all I have until I get a donut sale, and so I'm pretty worried about what limited time items I will have to sacrifice in the future. Here's hoping Gil comes back before another major event. Come on EA. After you dropped that gold bombshell on us, we deserve a shot at cheap donuts. Don't make me beg.

So not only does this wrap up the month of June, it also wraps up the first year of me making this thread for Springfield Guide enthusiasts. I created this thread, midway through July 2013. It's scary that after one year, my obsession with this guide has not diminished in the slightest. It looks more achievable to complete, than I had ever thought imaginable, when I first set out to try it. There were a lot of ups and downs to this game in one year, and on this forum. Without this guide I don't think I would have stuck with it. So thank you to Jerry Lerma and Terry Hogan for all they have done to inspire me. And thank you everybody for all your positive and constructive feedback
So a year ago today I started this whole thing, and to celebrate the anniversary, I thought it would be a good time to update the resources on this page.
I've update the guide with all the newest buildings in the game. I also took out some of the buildings which we didn't really have in the game, that I boxed in red anyways, because I've repurposed them myself. That doesn't apply to you and your town. I also fixed the land expansion graph because their were a few inaccurate things in there. I've decided to remove the older files from last March, because they are obsolete now.
Looking forward, I've recently switched from my dinky old 3rd gen itouch, to an 8" Galaxy Tab 4, and so my panoramas from now on should be at a much nicer resolution. Since the size formats will be different from what I have been used to working with, I thought I would give you an extra bonus treat, take what I have done so far, and put this entire year in to perspective. And so here is all my progress as an animated gif.

The original guide can be found easily enough through google. Just make sure you have the latest updated version, which was 05.26.04. It will say which revision it is in the bottom center. If you are looking for the interactive version of the Springfield guide, check out paulzuk's page at the top of the FAQ's and Guides section. http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/9312730.page
I also made something new this month, which I said I would do last May. This is another land expansion graph in a PNG format, for your town panorama, using photoshop or a similar program. I'm sure it has a couple uses, but my intended purpose was to help you see how your town lines up, with the land expansion graph on top of the Springfield guide.
As a small example, this is what it will look like when applied properly to your panorama.
And as requested, here are the large screen versions of all my town panoramas, dating back to the beginning of this thread, with the corresponding update commentaries.

I started playing about 3 months ago. From the very early on I stumbled across an old image of Springfield in the grid map layout (before the layout update) and ever since have been planning my town around it. I find it very challenging but fun
I just stumbled across this thread today and I am so happy and impressed that someone else is doing the same thing (and has been for quite some time). The end product that you've got makes me feel very excited about what my town may look like. P.S I've got that OCD thing too
As I haven't been playing for too long, I thought I'd ask - do you imagine EA will open up any more land spaces to the east any time soon? I've been designing my map from the very west of the layout design - from Lake Springfield. I don't want to cut out those four squares if I don't have to. I'm hoping EA will update with more squares soon...
Would love you to check it out and let me know what you think. Notice I've crammed all of my buildings not ready to be placed yet in the far western part of my grid (to get as much money as I can to buy more land - I'm trying not to farm with houses). I was also fortunate enough to receive quite a few Itunes gift cards (I bought some premium stuff ) Now though I need to be patient and to get to level 42 to earn some more...

Oh my Origin name is Oceania81

Yeah I do hope we will get some more land to the east. It makes more sense than more land to the north, at least in terms of the guide layout. I'm not in dire need of more land as some other people are, but it would certainly help me. If I had to make a guess for when we would get more land, then probably it would be halloween, if not next month.
But welcome to the forum! I welcome all guide followers as neighbours, so just give me a few days for me to go through my current neighbours to find somebody I don't know, who's name I don't like, and I'll replace them.
Hi Bravewall.. I am happy to have come across this thread.. I feel like you and me have same personality.. I am going to start building my Simpsons and follow your way.. If you could please add me would be great to see your Simpsons with more detail and you can feel free to check out mine when you get a chance.. Orgin name : KingDaniel1982... This is another month of no new Springfield Guide placements to report on. There is however a number of Krustyland Map items to update you on, and its been a while since that has happened. I realize though, that it is not as important as Springfield. So if you are looking for only Springfield Guide accuracy, this is another month that you can skip reading.
This is the first month I have made the above panoramas using my Android tablet. You might not be able to tell from the above panorama, because I shrunk it to be a somewhat presentable size, that you can see without detail, and a guide enthusiast will still get the gist of it. But the raw panorama is twice the size of the panoramas I've been making with my old itouch. Those panoramas are about the size as the image of my patchy Krustyland.
Whats useful though is it takes a lot less screenshots to make a panorama. The pictures are also a lot easier to line up, and their are less buildings that disappear halfway offscreen, that I have to go back and fit. So overall, this tablet saves me a lot of time, and there are less mistakes.

The Sit-and-Rotate is on the guide, but I did not have the 10 million to buy it yet. I've been spending a lot of cash on bloodmobiles to raise my experience and milk extra donuts out of this game. I only had 3 million when the Sit-and-Rotate became available, and as of August 1st, I have 8 million. So I will definitely have the Sit-and-Rotate for you next month.
Of course I did not have to spend all that money on bloodmobiles, if Gil had come along when I expected him to. Before I get into my best guesses for things that are not on the guide, I must sadly report that I can no longer say that I only buy donuts from Gil. There was too much stuff that I wanted. My patience was running way too thin. And then I just happened to land a new job, and almost immediately, I broke: I bought a boatload of donuts for the standard price. And while I'm happy to have the extra money to pay for it, It still feels so dirty.
Are you happy EA? You won. I drew a line in the sand, you crossed it, and I flinched. You've got me over a barrel now, and I will never feel whole inside. But with that explanation out of the way, let me talk about what I bought with donuts!
I wanted the Left-handed Roadster so I could have a nice looking car taking up space in my Stonecutter/Towne Glenne parking lot. It now looks more like the parking lot is used by high-end consumers. I bought chester Lampwicks rocket car, so I could complete the look of his gold house. I bought the unfinished shed, which I would put in Dr. Hibberts backyard, if he had one. For now, it can go in any old backyard.
And with that out of the way, I can now get into the month of July.
--
For the July fourth celebration update, I experienced my first time really saying "Oh... I already got half of this stuff last year." I guess that means I'm getting old. I really wanted to get the fireworks barge, as I remembered that and Giuseppe's Workshop from the episode tie-in for Fit Milhouse.
In the episode, the fireworks barge was seen along a beach, in an uncommon part of town. I thought it would really throw this side of my lake together, because all the water to the east is pretty full up with Squidport, Junkyville, and the signature guide logo and compass. I'm still debating whether I will fill that last bit of water expansion up with the Duff Party Liner, or wait for something less wasteful than a 300 donut whale to become available.
And then there is Guiseppe's workshop. In the episode, Homer and Guiseppe drive with an excessive amount of dangerous explosives on the hood of Homer's car, through a cobblestone district, over a rickety bridge, and through the gaslight district, just get to the workshop.
I got the feeling that Guiseppe lives where the guide shows Little Italy, which is of course, where you would find guys like Luigi, with Italian accents. And forgive my ignorance, but cobblestone and gaslight districts, sound like an import from old-world Europe. So I dumped old Guiseppe in between Luigi's restaurant and the Fireworks barge, in Little Italy.
Also, a number of Squidport performers were seen in the gaslight district during this episode. And since Little Italy is directly above Squidport, I was compelled to buy these 3 useless jerks.

I added George Washington and his pink tree right next to Abe lincoln and his cabin, behind fort sensible. The two most notable American Presidents chilling out in the same timeline? Actors, obviously. Forget all that time travel nonsense, I say. Actors who are dedicated to teach kids on field trips an abridged version of American history: It's the only reasonable explanation.
I also expect them to be added to Krustyland, where they can be **** robots, like they were in the Duff Gardens episode. Thats why I also added that Itchy and Scratchy Billboard next to it. Really though, that Billboard just follows the "new billboard day" on Homers way to work. But it all seems to connect somehow.
Beyond that, I bought some more American flags, to add with the presidents, as well as the baseball diamond, the airport, and the naval base. I did my duty America. Now settle down.

For the yard sale, the only thing I bought, was the Cool Brown house. In the episode with all the hipsters, this house belongs next door to the Simpsons house, as a remodelled version of the plain old brown house. But its too cool, and the brown house is back to normal now. So I need to repurpose it.
There is an episode from Season 13 called The Lastest Gun in the West where Bart befriends a John Wayne/Clint Eastwood inspired movie cowboy named Buck McCoy. Buck lives in a rich part of Springfield, and his house can be found on the Springfield Guide, on the left side of Mount Springfield. I certainly had the room to repurpose it. It doesn't look very much like Bucks house except for the stonework, but I'm sure with some decorations, I could make it look more privileged cowboy-themed. I am certainly open to suggestions. Until I find a better house to repurpose, this is what I'm going to go with, if for no other reason than to fill up my Springfield Heights section with some expensive looking houses.

The Level 43 content update was exclusively about Krustyland, which I think is fair, because Krustyland has been hobbling along since we finished the Roller coaster a year ago, with a few sympathy rides during holiday events, and eventually becoming just a place to dump your unwanted holiday decorations for some extra kitsch points.
I haven't done a proper update on how to follow the Krustyland map since last January. Those Valentines decorations and Love Tunnel, had really nothing to do with the guide map, which I try to do as much justice to, as I do with the Springfield Guide... Just not nearly as often.
This update helped me organize the park a bit, and expand a little more. Even though I have long ways to go before all the land is bought, I was able to plug some unsightly open spaces, and have it look a bit more organized. Adding Peeta Fleet and Bumble Bee Man's Tacos trucks really helped to surround the Krusty Fountain like it is in the guide map. The beer fountain belongs out in front of the duff pavilion, and I also added the seven duffs to square it off.
The biggest impact of this update is on the western side of the map, with the Uninspired Log Ride, Krusty's One Plate Maximum Buffet, and Krusty's Big Wheel, lining all the way up to the Wet and Smokey Stunt Show. With enough room to add a few more things in the future, like the Waterless Waterslide and Poochie's Halfpipe, this is still enough stuff to fill an entire wall of previously empty space.
Tavern on the Scream was from the Itchy and Scratchy Land episode. And even though that is a different thing from Krustyland, I'd still like more content from that episode in here. Assuming that that other theme park is now defunct, I'd figure that Krusty would have aquistioned a lot of it. I'm not exactly sure where to put the tavern yet (besides the most empty space), but the name is likely a parody of a tavern on the stream. Their is a stream that flows between Mount Krustmore, and the roller coaster. If we ever get the ability to ad water spaces to Krustyland, I'll be sure to make that stream, and the add the tavern appropriately on it.

That was all for the month of July. I'm glad that more people who are following the Springfield guide want to add me, but right now my new device does not seem to allow me to seek out new neighbours. I can only accept invites. And really, If you want to be my neighbour and use my town as a reference for where to put guide stuff, I'd rather you seek me out, than the other way around. So please PM me, tell me you are recreating the Springfield Guide, and then send me an invite that I can accept.
Also, I've seen a lot of different guide towns. I can tell if you're just starting out and on your way to getting there, or if your using the guide loosely while doing your own twist on it, or if your not even trying at all. if I add you, and you are not following the guide like you said you were, then don't expect me to keep you as a neighbour for very long. That might be rude to say, but I am still very bitter for paying full price on donuts. And I'm already full on neighbours, so every new guide follower requires a sacrifice. Every single one of my neighbours that doesn't follow the guide, is still very active and very stellar at visiting me. I don't take losing them as lightly as I sometimes joke.
Bravewall,
Have you considered moving Macaroni's shed to Buck's? A cowboy would have a horse and in the picture of his house there is a smaller barn-ish type building. I'm not sure how it would look. Just an idea. Your Springfield looks great though and when I can't find a building on the map I always come here to see what you have done with it.

I have thought about that actually, and you're right. It does make a lot of sense. You might just see it there soon enough.

Can you post bigger resolution panorama pics of your current Springfield and current Krustyland? Those pictures are so small that can't see where's the buildings / decorations etc are.

Happy Canada Day!
Are you able to post links of the panoramic views of the monthly updates of your whole town so we can zoom in and see them better? Thanks.
Thanks! Love your thread. I'm going to do a major redesign and use inspiration from your posts
UPDATE: These files have now become obsolete. For the newest resources, please refer to the November 2014 resource update.

Hey Bravewall,
I started playing about 3 months ago.
Regards
But welcome to the forum! I welcome all guide followers as neighbours, so just give me a few days for me to go through my current neighbours to find somebody I don't know, who's name I don't like, and I'll replace them.

Have you considered moving Macaroni's shed to Buck's? A cowboy would have a horse and in the picture of his house there is a smaller barn-ish type building. I'm not sure how it would look. Just an idea. Your Springfield looks great though and when I can't find a building on the map I always come here to see what you have done with it.
looking forward to see your latest bravewall. good work. Inknow how this can be time consuming having made a map myself and basing it on the show, the map and the introduction. i sent you an invite if youre curious to see my work. i would certainly like to see yours
