Last week, I was behind with Blam. Now, I'm back on track, thanks to large Stewie and the little minions. I'm about half way to unlocking Stan Lee, I need notebooks mostly. I've been getting more of the stuff for him from the little minions and from nerds.
I have 141 clams, I don't know if I should get Stan's trailer (since it'll always give me notebooks) or just save them. Everything premium is just so ridiculously priced.
Well, it will give you notebooks until you're done with them. Then I don't know what they give after that.
I'm in the same boat... I'm at 165 and not sure if I should buy an event building that I like or save them.

No, it's possible. I'm at 79,500 Blam. I bought the sommelier, but that was 11 days ago and I haven't collected the maximum possible number of times. Even at 12 days at maximum earning, that would be only 9000 Blam earned from it. Take that away and I'd still have 70,500.
Made it to 88000 this morning and got the Nothing Suspicious Here Factory. I'm getting closer and closer to George Takei with each Blam. The hardest part is stocking up on the pesticides. I also unlocked Stan Lee (thanks in part to the minion stewies and the outhouse).

Not impossible. I'm around 60k and haven't spent a dime. You just have to be very patient with the minion stewies and try to get at least 8-10 per shot. Yesterday I got over 10k blam in one day (I was at home all day sick).

And yeah, the Minion Factory does increase the number of minions. The Minions also drop the Stan Lee-related items on a pretty regular basis. I was able to unlock him within a couple days due to that. I may have just had really incredible luck, but it did seem pretty regular.

Relatively regular, got 7 camaras and 9 notebooks, got all the other thing. Need 7500 blam but it'll be 10500 when I get the last Sundea so I can unlock blobulas
I'm not a premium player but he shouldn't be, simply because 1000.clams to spend in one update is ridiculous for just two characters - I know they're celebs but still. I mean its 17.0085 so £17.01 for them both if you buy the tank of clams which is far too much

Nature of the beast, I suppose. There's a ridiculous number of examples where a name-brand item costs an absurd amount of money over a counterpart. Personally, there are 5 voiced celebrity characters the game is giving players for in-game currency, so I find it very hard to complain about 2 premium options.
EDIT: not to mention the 50 clams you get for unlocking 4 of them.

Not true at all. I'm freemium and, have gone from about 34,000 to 86,000 in less than a week. I've managed to unlock every character, stan lee in just 3 days, now have every non premium building and should easily have 100,000 in next couple of days. You must farm pesticides and use them wisely. Nailing giant stewie up to the 25x marker is critical. I've yet to hit him at 29 pesticides but have hit him for 18 pesticides several times now. Screw the bombs, you get plenty of them from blue nerds and, have other non pesticide characters available for bomb runs. It is more than doable in two weeks. You don't have to play constantly, just check back every 2 hours. That will allow you to farm the 2 hour characters for pesticides and, that means you hit every 4 hours as well to farm the rest of the pesticide characters and get your blam from comic-con buildings. The more you visit the better for getting bombs. I'm still sitting on 15 bombs and 10 batteries. Bombs are only useful when a lot of small stewies can be gathered so once you've taken out a couple of good size groups, there isn't really a need to continue. Seriously, this is easy to do.
Nothing yet, and it's frustrating. I guess they changed their minds after iOS players had that hissy fit on TQFS' Facebook page (the promo image disappeared shortly after).
Just got Stan Lee! Wonder if I should just hoard supplies until Friday? You get 50 clams when you have the 4 free event characters. I wish tsto handed out donuts like this. I'm up to 293 clams. I already have Tucker and brain damaged horse from free clams
