This really doesn't explain it. Can someone elaborate? Why am I seeing threads that people are suddenly needing to build houses to compete in the event? I don't have any house farms and have only 1 or 2 of each normal house (except brown houses). I just started building the castle and it wont be done until tonight. I have about $9.9M which I was saving for the sit-and-rotate. Should I hold off on buying that?

When the skin is being worn, click on the Castle (homer is on the initial, bart with the cardboard, Lisa with recycling one). All you have to do is click the gold button to upgrade the character. It does not TAKE your gold, you just need to have that amount acquired. So you can level all 3 at once to the highest you can.

It depends how long you are out of your game. If you can't visit for 8 hours, your buildings will be destroyed and you miss out on gold or elixir since people could have visited you but had nothing to attack you. People are building houses, so they can get more visitors. More visitors = more gold and more elixir and more dice. So you help yourself get more personal prizes, have availability for neighbors to visit and randoms to visit. While I'm not a farmer, I started 12+ new houses that will be sold after the event ends. I want to make sure there's things to tap on in my town maximizing gold and elixir.

I would hold off on the sit-and-rotate. It doesn't generate revenue or xp, and the new land is expensive.

I, too, am wondering if this game favors house farmers. So far I've had no reason to build more houses; not all my houses have been attacked at once.

Yesterday was a frenzy, all of mine were destroyed in less than 30 minutes. Overnight they were also destroyed to, so wait until you go to bed.

Do your houses have to be "ready" in order for them to be attacked? Im still trying to collect money for new land (currently at $9M) so I will usually clear up my houses if I see them ready.. Is this preventing me from being attacked??

I don't think so. I've tapped the shield over my houses, sometimes there's a tappable dollar after the shield is gone, and sometimes it's still counting down to the dollar sign. I'd like to keep getting mo' money too. I just recently bought the 10 million dollar Sit n Rotate, so I need cash to buy the new land.

    Major features and functionality are:

Ability to upgrade buildings by spending event currency, increasing the level and stats of the building.

I don't see this. Is this later with the quests? I get it for the three castles, have not see with the houses.

I also don't have house farms, I chose in my building of my SF to make it look like a town. I originally only had one brown house because of it not being profitable, and not going to check the game every 5 minutes. I built cul-de-sacs with all the others {hope a new color house comes out with the next update}. Though I have not counted them, they generated enough after getting Sit-n-Rotate to build more cul-de-sacs as I accumulated all the land possible, and buying the new land strips {not water}.

Once I learned that neighbors needed to have things to tap, I added 16 more brown houses & the cool brown house. I don't tap them or Simpson's, Flanders', Van Houten's, 2 Krusty Burgers, 3 Kwik-E-Marts {only tapping one to get the scratchers} until handshakes appear just to make sure there are things left when I leave the game.

We look forward to your positive approach. Thank you again for your continued patience and understanding.
I too look forward to your positive approach but I must ask, are you a pilot - or does EA think you might be?

You can only upgrade the castles by clicking on them. :-)
