It seems like an EA tech could log into your town and analyze the status directly, since this is happening on multiple devices/platforms. Best of luck.
My game tells me that it can't connect to the server multiple times a day. And crashes constantly! When the new update first started, I was able to play an entire day! I even managed to visit every neighbor, which I haven't been able to do in MONTHS.
But then... My problems started up again.
There was an update today when I first logged on. I was actually excited, hoping the problems would be fixed.
I can't get into the game AT ALL now. It told me that it couldn't connect to the server EVERY TIME... SEVERAL TIMES EACH TRY!!! Then... the screen would glitch, black out, and send me back to my Kindle main page.
Is it a Kindle/Android thing?
I've also received messages saying it couldn't connect to the Amazon AppStore. Or that the AppStore connection stopped working.
It's INCREDIBLY frustrating because I, too, have spend a lot of money on this game.

I'm a kindle user, no connectivity problems here. I'm on a fire HDX, don't know if that makes a difference.
The only time I experience connectivity issues is when I'm on my iPhone at work, but that's just cause I'm not on Wi-Fi and have to rely on my phone's regular data connection. All my apps (facebook and links) load slowly there.

You need to try to use another device. Use another device, install the app, and see if you can use that device to "fix" the issues.
