dialogue annoying and cocky? anyone else dislike the dialogue?

I don't find that part stupid at all. I find it true.

yeah obviously its true, and thats how it works. but is that really funny? is it supposed to be funny? I havnt liked the dialogue for this one since the start, just so stupid, and that mr burns part was the straw that broke the camels back so I decided to post and see what you guys figure. it just doesnt seem like "the simpsons" at all.

I've actually thought the dialogue in this one has been great. I've found it to be the best part of the event. For the Burns part I was wondering if it would hit too close to home for some players, and it did surprise me a bit. But I certainly didn't find it "stupid".

While I didn't find it cocky, I was underwhelmed overall by all of the dialogue so far. A lot of repeating the same lines over and over, etc. I know they can do better than this. It doesn't feel like Simpsons dialogue a lot of the time.

I will say though that it did have two of the best lines in tsto history when marge asks homer if he's 'drinking sizzurp' and homer replies, 'it's not drank'.

It's the worst event dialogue to date, no question about that. EA hates us as much as we hate them, but The Simpsons bring us together despite it.

Am I the only one who skips all the dialogue, and just taps really fast when the text box appears? I don't think I've ever read the dialogue since the beginning, when Lisa and Homer were cleaning up the town.

It reminds me of the new episodes of the Simpsons. Definitely trying way too hard.

As an event, Easter was worse, but the Easter dialogue was better (and far less insulting).

People actually read the dialogue still? it's almost universally terrible all the time, kinda like the show itself these days. personally I just skip right over it.

Gotta agree. I feel like they're trying to be clever by pointing out how pointless the game is, but it just comes off as an insult to me. Might not have been their intention as I think about it, but that's just how it came off to me.

Most of what was said could have been a copy/paste of many many many posts on this very forum. If we don't like what the game dialogue is saying, why do we jump on the bandwagon if the same sentiment is voiced by a forum member? Don't we constantly talk about how much more successful the other games are?

Don't we constantly complain about the ripoffs? Are you mad because they AGREE with us? Why? Wouldn't you be madder if they were saying that prices of their stuff is low? Or if they started saying that the competition games suck?

At least they hear what we're saying.

And I totally lol'd at Homer's "And don't get me started about the (EXPLETIVE DELETED) Easter fences!"

Dialogue about how foolish we are to hope for a pattern, and how much the randomness sucks but they gave it to us anyway:

Homer: Must get every Easter Box prize Must complete set Life meaningless until all are mine
Bart: Snap out of it, man! Quit letting a randomized outcome rule your life.
Homer: Oh, its not random. Theres a pattern, Im sure of it. Just like theres a pattern to how we walk around town I assume.
Bart: Maybe you should just go to work. Then you could earn enough money to buy the things you want outright.
Homer: Whats the point of that? Theres no drama, no delectable tension. Besides, Mr. Burns told all his employees to take the month off and collect eggs.
Homer: Which I find in no way suspicious! Now shut up.
Homer: According to an online forum post I just read, the next Easter Box I buy is guaranteed to pay off big! Guaranteed!

Dialogue about how much the event sucks and how lazy they are about making it not suck, and also we're all helpless sheep:

Homer: Haven't thought about it. I'm simply obeying my brain's deep-seated, irrational impulse to collect things. It's a weakness we all share, and one evil game designers are expert at exploiting. Thanks, game designers!
But why are we talking, when we could be collecting?
Stranger: Pssst... I'll tell you what you can do with them. Collect enough eggs and I'll trade you a mysterious box from my extensive collection of rare objects from around the world
Homer: Ooh! More collecting! Pretty sweet
Lisa: Dad, is this really the most productive way to spend your time?
Homer: Lisa, someday you'll understand that collecting things so you can trade them in for collectibles from some dude's collection is the only way to feel good about yourself.
Lisa: But they're random prizes, Dad. What if you just get a bunch of fences?

Right. None of it offends me. I find some of it humorous, some less so. But none of it offensive.
