So what do you all think of the Spooky House needing chocolate bars to craft? I'm 77 away from having enough for the Grand Pumpkin, so would it be best to use them on the SH or hold off for the GP? I am assuming (hoping) both will be doable by the end of the event.
Got Hugo three days ago and the DTD this morning. I did have a panicky moment a couple days back when I looked at the 'probes needed per day' post and realized I was short, but I picked up my collection rate and it's all good.
(I also seem to be hovering in the low teens on the gremlin leaderboard, which I would not have expected given the number of donut-buying neighbors I have.)

I'm a newbie player. I was about to level 5 when the game switched over from Clash of the Clones to Treehouse of Horror.
I lost most of a day where I just couldn't log into the game, then lost most of another day because our satellite internet went down due to storm interference. Meanwhile, little did I know that all that time I was spending in the Friendiverse sending out and accepting invitations and visiting my new friend's towns I was NOT getting any aliens in my own town. Though I did score 15 free donuts by reporting the bug to tech support...
I'm struggling to get enough probes to get the Donut Torture Device. If I don't hit a UFO with my 1 Ammo and get 50 probes while I scramble through 30 towns tomorrow smashing aliens I may not make it. If I do it will be by the skin of my teeth.
I've been farming like crazy every minute I can spare (and stay logged it) working toward getting Bart for a third Trick-or-Treater (closing in on level 15). I just finally got Bart earlier this evening and sent my 3 kids out, then looked back at the guide and realized I should have done the Bart tasks to go for Martin.
I have about half of the items needed to craft Hugo, though I'm a little short on candy corn. I might get the pumpkin house as well if I can get Martin Trick-or-Treating too.
just got hugo this morning, dont think i will get the DTD, about 2500 off getting that, i set my kids to trick or treat before i leave for work and clear aliens then by time get home from work set them again (dont have time to get on during work hours) then at nights jump on twice to do neighbors and squash more aliens so only really getting on 3 times a day sometimes only two, think i will struggle even more when the next batch of prizes come in
Got the Donut torture device and Hugo a few days ago. Halfway to the grand pumpkin. So, it is definitely doable as a freemium player. It just takes time loggin in every few hours.
Does anyone know if the Grand pumpkin will stay the whole event? I'm not even close to getting it.
The general sense seems to be that the Grand Pumpkin and other crafting items will be around for the entire event. I think that's just a guess, we will probably find out tomorrow. I'm semi-premium and not close either. I spent donuts so I wouldnt miss out on Hugo.

I'm a freemium player and I would say i'm just about getting there.
I unlocked Hugo a couple of days ago, literally unlocked the Donut machine about 10 minutes ago, and am about 60% on my way to getting the Grand Pumpkin.

Level 10 Weapon upgrade.
I've got just over 150 probes to get in order to unlock the doughnut torture machine so should just be able to get it in time.
