Like the OP, I'm disappointed with the lack of Consumerism-related items. I have the following in my Springfield (which the wiki says boosts Consumerism):
Android's Dungeon
Aztec Theatre
Barney's Bowlarama
Crypto Barn
Ferris Wheel
Giuseppe's Workshop
Herman's Military Antiques
Honest John's Computers
Itchy and Scratchy Store
Jake's Unisex Hair Palace
Just Rainsticks
King Toot's
Kwik-E-Mart (x6)
Lotto 'N' Liquor
Lugash's Gym
Malaria Zone
My First Tattoo
Noise Land Video Arcade
Sir Putt-A-Lot's
Sprawl Mart
Springfield Grocery Store
Springfield Pet Shop
Springfield Wax Museum
Stu's Disco
Try-N-Save
Turban Outfitters
Vulgari Jewelry Store
ZiffCorp Sign
I also do not want a KEM farm. The six I do have are tastefully spread throughout the town. Perhaps as my Springfield grows, I might build more, but I'd really rather not (in fact, given the choice, I'd want to REMOVE a couple). Anyway, as of this post, I'm at Level 45 and have 4 Consumerism stars. This is the thing holding back my perfect 5-star rated city, and keeping me from that added half-percentage earning bonus.
I understand the Ziff Corp building, which I'm due to build here pretty soon (in the next week or so, I expect, depending on when Artie's quest gives me the directive), adds to Consumerism. I guess I'll see if that gives me my needed bump or not.
Are there any Halloween items I should watch for that improve Consumerism?

If the House of Evil store comes back, I believe that's a consumerism item. It will almost certainly cost donuts.
I was already at 5 stars thanks to a few more KEM in my town, but the * was just re-released (for donuts), and I bought it. Since Consumerism is so difficult to get, I figure I'm "buying ahead" on the next update.

Probably a good plan. I think I'm a little ahead on consumerism right now, so I'll probably save my donuts for the supercollider.

Excellent, I will watch for that one, thanks.
