I think the developers know exactly what they are doing. They put this in intentionally to reward the serious players. How many people knew about this? Only the hardcore players. The casual guys never noticed. Once might be a mistake. But twice in a row is a little present to us. Enjoy it and share it with your friends.

Both premium characters can earn stethoscope and hard hats. I am assuming (hoping) all 4 characters will earn all 4 currencies.
